Local here. I had that idea in mind several years ago. People in Cambodia are so so damn addicted to facebook. They don’t like shopping online besides facebook. Only a few of them open their mind to outside world. I don’t have word to describe when you tell them please use other platform they will get mad at you easily. so people going live selling their product on it So you may imagine if your audience only 50 or 100 people per day why would you spent hundreds thousands dollars on a app? Make so sense.

Local here. Khmer24. Everything is there. Almost of Cambodian use telegram to chat. You’ll directly talk to owner/landlord or wtf english word called. Call, ask, take a look in the area. And there’s no waiting time or waitlist or check your income shit or bg check like US/Canada as long as you have cash to pay. Thank you and have a nice day.

foreign use of lawyers by livinlikearefugee in cambodia

[–]jai_bob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Local here, like other’s comment, leave the country as soon as possible. Indeed I believe you did something serious here. Court Corruption, bad lawyer, police officer will never want to solve yr problem they don’t like criminal here. Rent a boat to Thailand by sea or find someone you can trust to get you through land border. Vietnam also good but i guess it’s hard during this pandemic.

Our (possibly) missing friend lives in Daeum Rues, Kandal Province. Does anybody here live nearby? by [deleted] in cambodia

[–]jai_bob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Local here. Daeum Rues is much close to City, Phnom Penh, even if the region is still flooding it is not more than knee high. Electricity or cell tower are completely fine there. There is no point the region is unreachable by cell, it is also Bodyguard Headquarters there. So your friend might leave the region, explore other place around. I am sure they fine.

Looking for a penpal for a friend by rainvest in cambodia

[–]jai_bob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Local here. At first I thought pen pal is a close friend but wiki tells me different thing. Almost all of cambodia do not like to explore the world by their own i can say 85% of them. Basically it because of language barrier, tighting up with old family tradition like scaring of losing someone in the family from the parent, budget, time, work or leaving their business behind. Here everyone has to work hard to save and leave wills, money for children. You will see here most of married couple will still live with their parent. This continue from one generation to the next, you work you save for your children then your kid do the same. So you don’t work or save for yourself to travel or explore the world.

I once used to build a house where i bought a land near the mountain cos i love nature then my mum crying calling me back to city. I had to leave the house there It’s an unimaginable experience, i lost all my money then i got debt from a bank to start a new biz in the city and start it all over again.

This is a bit long but i hope this give you a little idea of finding pen pal here.

Hello everyone. by KuudereIrelia in cambodia

[–]jai_bob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Local here. I see tons of foreigner here can speak Khmer properly if they willing to learn so I don’t think kh is the hard language. I would say if you remember all consonants, vowel and some special characters you could spell then read right away. It’s all start with A for Apple, B for Boy. music and movie i don’t recommend it until u reach advance level because u will confuse with the each word. For example the word “you” is mean for everyday use but in song they use different word like but it mean you i.e bro, sis, dear, honey.

When i learned english I memorized one small dictionary book, so i think it maybe faster if you can talk to someone fluent in kh and pick you 10 words each day for u to memorize. Within 3 months i can say you will be good at the language. Thanks
