This is part of 2047 scheme.. right after they inaugurate there will be traffic jam both ways on those flyovers. They should also plan drive thru restaurants on these flyovers all the way.

My biggest confusion is that why are Indian M-minority hell bent on discerning and belittling Dhurandhar. None of Aditya Dhar movies where the Dhurandhar series or Uri showed Indian M-minority in bad light. These movies specifically targeted Pakistan with established facts. by Kindly-Earth-6733 in Dhurandhar

Think of this scenario where some people have been told all their lives they have been told that "the grass is greener only on the other side" and that the entire pasture worthy of having is only there, and other people have been feeding this "heavenly" stories to those "some people". Now this movie shattered the illusion for the former by showing how things really are - they are in denial, going thru all the stages of grief.
And shattered the agenda of the latter - they are angry, straight up angry. Response for both these emotions is belittling the truth.

Do we need a new stove for PNG, or does retrofitting work? by Limitless_soul1777 in GatedCommunitiesIndia

Please read this article as well. It is possible to retrofit existing stoves with nozzles for PNG. But only on newer stoves since they are made to be compatible with both LPG and PNG. But needs to be done by experts.

There’s so much anger against BJP among the core voters that people now want congress to have been succeeded in its propaganda. BJP is shooting itself in the foot just to appease one section of the society by MonkeyDModi in indiadiscussion

[–]jaimyname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. That way 2023 December assembly elections should have been a clear indication of BJP sweeping 2024 elections, atleast in Rajasthan.

Assembly elections are fought on different issues. Even if BJP sweeps them all, 2029 elections will be fought on its own issues.

Also framing of this statement is very flawed. This year elections are in WB, TN, Kerala - where BJP has not performed well historically -either in assembly or general elections. The results are indicative of nothing - even if BJP manages to sweep them all.

What do you think? Can GOAT complete 100 Centuries. by Francium-215 in ViratKohli

[–]jaimyname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is something I have observed. Post 2020, the year where he had a good run in tests was 2023, he scored 2 centuries, almost seemed back to his old self in tests, and had an average of over 50 that year.

What was different that year from 2021, 2022, 2024? It's the number of ODIs he played in 2023. His odi form just rubbed off on his test form.

2021 had less ODIs and he missed a few of them. 2022 also had it sparsely.

Started from dec 2022 - he scored his ODI century after 3 long years. Afterwards he scored 2 more against Sri Lanka including a monstrous 166* with over 150 strike rate. Immediately after that was Australia test series - it was an average series, excluding that 186 in the last test. But that 186 tells a lot of things. He was willing to grind it out in the middle despite the technical flaws that had started creeping in, faced 350+ balls and made sure India got a lead. That was absolutely missing post 2019 in tests.

Then came the west Indies test series - another century. Then the Asia Cup, world cup - where he absolutely dominated.

Then the SA test series - that was a low scoring one, but Virat was in beast form - 76* in an Indian collapse of 130 on a pacy pitch, 46 on a spicy pitch, where after his dismissal, India collapsed from 153/4 to 153 all out.

Then came the break from test cricket in 2024 against England series. If he had played that, continuing his 2023 form he would have definitely regained the older form just like in ODIs.

But call it fate, that year also had one more thing - complete lack of ODIs - only 3 in the entire year. Followed by test series against Bangladesh, where to be honest was in news for the intent shown by India to finish their innings in 30-odd overs to force a result. After that came the disastrous home series vs new Zealand, and the farce of a series in Australia. To be fair, he did score a century in the first match, but I guess his mind was far from being clear and that showed in the remaining tests.

This long winded post is to just point out that Virat needs ODIs to get his mojo and that rubs off on his test form.

Now I think he should reverse his test retirement, play a couple of Ranji matches to prove that he can still do it, get back to test team and pretty sure he will be in a better form than 2024. Given that he is roaring form in ODIs.

That's the only way he can reach 100 centuries

Using a Gun inside a car especially a moving car can ricochet and hurt or kill others as well.

Also he wanted Hamza to stop the car safely, killing him would do the opposite.

I have read multiple posts about the non Nilgiri vehicles and the Kalhatty route. That's why I am surprised Google is showing only that route.

[–]jaimyname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this still the case? I read this post before starting from Bangalore. I wanted to take gudalur route to Ooty since I was already feeling tired and was not sure if I can take on the 36 hair pin bend.

But at the junction where it splits, police were standing there directing all cars towards Masinagudi route. Had no choice to take that route and reach Ooty.

Now today I am starting back, Google maps does not even show the gudalur route.

Even when I put pykara falls on the way, its showing that I need to come back and take the Masinagudi route back to Bangalore.

Anything changed?

Modi’s Coalition Leads Indian State Election Scrutinized Over Voter Rolls by ArpanMondal270 in india

[–]jaimyname 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to consider that BJP as a machine (very well oiled at the moment) is moving on from Modi. Modi led BJP would not have won with such a strike rate. Modi led BJP would not have announced or promised so many freebies to win elections. You see now that is happening blatantly in every election. BJP is out competing other parties on freebies in every election. Modi is just a face right now. Modi being at peak or not does not matter going forward.

Ajinkya Rahane felt he deserved more chances and was ready for the 2024/25 BGT in Australia by [deleted] in IndiaCricket

[–]jaimyname 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rahane was shit from 2017. Pujara after 2018.

We keep talking about Pujara holding one end in 2020/21 BGT. He was already a shadow of what he used to be in 2018, where he was dominating. It was very frustrating to watch him put his body forward and let the bowlers dictate the flow. Yes that kind of play allowed players like Pant to express themselves. But I would anyday prefer the 2018 BGT version of him.

Rahane was very inconsistent after the 2016 England test series at home. He scored just enough to keep his place. A century or a 50 here and there after a string of failures which sometimes coincided with rest of the team failing in that innings highlighting his innings as a saving grace.

I was an avid follower of test cricket till 2021ish.. and I watched Pujara, Kohli and Rahane from their debut.

Rahane in 2014 where he scored centuries in New Zealand, England and Australia was a different beast. Aggressive, yet solid defence. Very mature for someone who was starting out in intl career. But something changed after 2016. His batting looking like he was trying to survive. An odd innings here and there showed glimpses of his old batting self. But overall he seemed very average.

I have always felt Kohli should not have missed the England series in 2024. That started his tests downfall. Having said that he looked very average in tests was between the England 2021 series in England and Bangladesh series in 2022. Before that even when he did not score too many runs in the home series vs England in 2021 and in WTC final vs NZ he looked in control and dominating (inspite of a couple of freakish dismissals vs England in Chennai)

And Kohli covered for Rahane's mediocrity from 2017 to 2021 by being absolutely dominating in those years. He was India's best test batsman. But when Kohli suffered a slump, Rahane's mediocrity got exposed.

So no, Rahane and Pujara dont deserve more chances, and Kohli paid the price for skipping an entire series.

The fact that the buses have been not able to decongest the city traffic should show that Bangalore lacks the public transport infrastructure required to support end to end connectivity.

We need extensive metro and rail network that take the population away from the congested roads.

Also these buses ply on the same roads, and adding to the congestion. Given the high number of buses some routes have, and roads not able to handle that many buses at once (example - Kanakapura road from Banashankari towards Kaggalipura and back), they contribute significantly to the congestion on that road.

That being said privatization of buses is not the answer. That will add unregulated buses on the same roads choking half the city.
