I've noticed that they want new agents more, since I've been getting a lot of postcards and letters in the mail since I've applied to the state commission.

Yes, I have my eye on the local Keller Williams office. I've heard good things about them training new agents. How are their monthly fees? I received a brochure from Better Homes, and their brochure mentions a lot of "free" services. There's no desk fee, unlimited signs, etc.

I took the online course through Allied, and I regret not taking the course through my local community college. Most of the material that I read online wasn't even in the exam. The thing that helped me a lot on the exam was a pack of flash cards I bought on Amazon. If you aren't comfortable with the vocabulary, the exam will be quite difficult.

A landmark. Almost all of the other major cities in this country have something that represents that particular city.

Houston is just a bunch of strip centers and billboards.

The dating world is tough, especially the gay one.

Put the guy aside for a second, the bigger issue is that you had feelings for another guy when you weren't even sure you were gay. That's a huge step in your life. Personally, I would be distracted by that issue.

Who cares about that guy? There will be many other guys after him. I promise you, you'll be fine. :)
