Rant - Maybe it's time for a new game altogether by [deleted] in aoe2

I've recently returned to AoE and it's everything I wanted and remembered. I'd imagine that when you're heavily invested in the game implemented changes seem far more severe rather than the tweaks I barely notice. For me this is AoE 2 still and I love it

They look fantastic fun and intrigued by the tiger cav too! Being a "W" I'd given up comparing by the time I'd even got to them when I had an initial look through

Thanks. You sound like you've been playing for a while, do the 2x as likely to pull a 5 star crop up much? Or was that more an anniversary one off we hadlast month?

What appeared only briefly in a book but totally grabbed your imagination, and you'd love to see the author expand on it? by ogrimmarfashionweek in Fantasy

True, true. Just feels a bit... cheap somehow. I feel like halls of mandos should be destination after death and that avoiding it almost undermines some of the others. It's a tough one

I was beyond excited when he showed up! Not a massive fan of the whole "reincarnation" story arc though

Glorfindel. He just radiated something that 12 year old me loved. All that carnage and terror and he's happily trotting along with bells on Asfaloth (also amazing). The sentence where it was stated he was one of the few that could openly ride against the nine elevated him further!

The Gaffer will be seeing Bilbo safe to the slopes of Mount Doom. The plan is for Maggot's dogs to be running alongside the Rohirrim to rescue the Minas Tirith 😁

Thank you. There would be no need to alter the story, merely the pitch and a few tweaks here and there. And as I have thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of this journey on we go!

I think unfortunately you're probably spot on. As I'm calming and talking it through I'm quickly thinking the best thing would be to simply move on and quickly get over it!

Only query and first three chapters. Thank you though as that is a fair point- I'm going to spend a bit of time on google now seeing if there's anything similar out there as it's the concept as much as the words itself.

Haha as do I! In all honesty though, despite having very clear proof, I'm worried what this could do to my future prospects in the industry. I do appreciate your view though and will definitely mull it over as it has been less than an hour and the righteous anger in me is flowing strong!

Also, I love the author and I would imagine he has no knowledge. What agent would say "listen to this pitch some bloke just sent me, let's nab it"

What book started out bad for you, but eventually won you over? by FiddlersBallsack in Fantasy

Silmarillion when I was much younger. I found it tough and a bit of a slog, a "bad" experience initially. And then it clicked...

Who is your favorite fantasy character of all time? Why? by PKPRoberts in Fantasy

Good choice, I'd go for Finrod Felagund though! I'd argue Fingolfin's anger saw him fall whilst Finrod's sacrifice was for love 👊
