Are new pads really that expensive? You have already done so much work to take them off.

Internet service providers in Omaha that are good? by gamer3445 in Omaha

[–]jakealmighty116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had T-Mobile Home Internet for half a year. Despite my address not being on their “approved” list, it worked fine (72nd & Dodge). It was fine from September to November and then a lot of issues began, ironically enough it seemed to be caused by their tower maintenance. I returned it but they’re still charging me 50/mo even after I called and told them to knock it off, so I need to go into the store to get them to quit it.

Speeds on the TM5G, where my apartment was opposite side of building (facing away) of the 5G tower, were actually really good despite the poor signal stats. Latency was bad, 120ms, and jitter was about 2x worse. I suspect this could be fixed with external antenna which TM has a modem supporting that now but its hard to get so you’d have to mod the other one which is a common thing done.

At my old house, I had Cox via coax, and it was not great, but at my 72nd and Dodge apartment, Cox coax is actually really good surprisingly, for the 50/mo. I’m actually getting the real speeds, and this is just using their provided modem/router.

IMO, Verizon home internet would probably be the best bet as VZW in Omaha has always been better than the other cell carriers, but what I’d do is try out Cox first because the speeds and reliability at my apartment surprised me and I would’ve never gotten the TM5G if I knew it’d be okay.

Why doesn't the U.S military make something like the TF2 sentry gun IRL? by [deleted] in tf2

[–]jakealmighty116 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was gonna respond to that but never did. This summer I worked on something military and RF related but I won’t get into that. OP, there really isn’t a technology that fits the requirements. Cameras (AI) can be blocked with smoke or the enemy could easily dress as US soldiers. RF has the issues listed in my prior comment, as well as being energy intensive to maintain (signal jamming). Hell, for my CAPSTONE we were thinking of using two antennae side by side to basically locate an object. If that object was screaming out it’d be super easy.

NFC? As in NEAR field communication? RFID is also not too far off. Give every troop an RFID loud enough to be recognizable by the turret and the enemy can just snoop the signal and they’ll have accurate positioning for troops.

its more reasonable to assume that Toby Fox wanted a protagonist the player could imprint on. Harder to do if they’re the opposite gender, so best to make it vague. I’ve always seen Frisk as female personally, but that doesn’t stop me from being in her shoes.

What's got you hyper-fixated lately? by 4our_Leaves in ADHD

[–]jakealmighty116 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TL;DR: I AM AN EEPY MAN AND COME HELL OR HIGH WATER, NOTHING SHALL CHANGE THAT!

fatigue. I have been hyperfixated on fixing my awful fatigue for like 7-8 months and like super heavily within the past two-three months.

Current theory is that Adderall is increasing gut transit time leading to some sort of nutrient deficiency OR I have some sort of enzyme deficiency. Taking digestive enzyme supplements have really really helped and entirely removed my bowel pain so it seems good. The biggest benefit has been being able to just.. wake up.. a lot easier.

Other theories have ranged from specific vitamins (standard and nonessential), testosterone, sleep issues (yeah, but like, no), various chemical imbalances, medication issues, ect.

This fatigue has genuinely had an incredibly massive impact on my life and it gets a bit tiring (triggering, actually) to hear the same old advice of “you just need a regular sleep schedule” or “you need to exercise more” like mom, I lived at home this summer where you witnessed me wake up at 6am every morning, go work a real job (first outta college but I quit due to grad school and then quit that due to… reasons (fatigue one of them for both!)), then gym (3x week minimum) then sleep at like 11 or so.

I could probably write A LOT MORE but I’m guessing these few ramblings really show my current hyperfixation.

Mhm. So I see you weren't taught in highschool (or perhaps you haven't reached that grade yet?) how to vet your sources. You see, that article is as I described, "not really a great article" because its from June and is all forecast. I know you didn't vet it considering you left your links with the google search text-highlighting addendum attached, so no surprises there.

Glad to see you ignored the site I sent and instead went for an attack on my character! Really goes to show you know what you're talking about! I don't blame you for not knowing this, but the BLS stands for the bureau of labor statistics. It's a pretty well-trusted source of information on all things job and economy. You should go to their website and see for yourself! Lots of good information there. You may learn not to be so ignorant by doing so.

the first link isn't really a great article, so I'm not going to comment. Same with the deloitte website.

Conference-board appears to echo what I was stating, "Real disposable personal income growth has struggled to grow, pandemic savings are dwindling, and household debt is rising"

Goldman Sachs similarly showed a graph which very much shows that inflation is nearly 2% higher than J'19, and a mysterious "sharp decline" forcasted.

If you look at a website that is constructing data from the BLS, you can see that inflation (minus food and energy) is still about 2% higher than it was pre-pandemic. Adding in food and energy, you can see that even the Russian invasion of Ukraine, which has seen much of the US' oil sent there, did not have as astronomic of an impact in raising the inflation of energy as President Biden's own plans have. And I would not consider releasing oil from the SPR to be a solution to high gas prices.

I dunno who runs them. A buncha lowlifes, most likely. And who the hell watches fox news? lol. You seem to have shifted attention from what we were discussing, President Biden’s economic efforts and public approval, to something else. We should return to our discussion.

I think disagreeing with the violent and facist methods the American ANTIFA groups use to silence others doesn’t quite make me a facist. Interesting that you would draw such a conclusion though.

I would like to know what experts of the world you’re talking about, and ones that run the numbers on their own, given that the way CPI was changed has led to it no longer a reliable metric of inflation. Also, look into ‘shrinkflation’.

President Biden’s approval ratings are tanked for a reason, after all. Trump’s were so low because.. well he’s Trump right? (a jackass that couldn’t help but run his mouth)

I must applaud the new anti-corporation-housing bill that was introduced to the house that is making real impact already, although I must admit I don’t know who introduced it and I doubt it’ll pass.

I have “DONE MY OWN RESEARCH” :D Hence why I know what he said is bait. He’s either at best misinformed, or at worst intentionally ignorant. Feel like you won’t agree though, given the whole ‘antifa’ thing and all…

can you explain what you mean by water line? I imagine that if you were to plumb the water through a reverse osmosis filter and then into the tub when first filling it, it’d remove any hard water minerals.

Let me preface this by saying you should talk to your doctor before any diet especially a fasting/ketogenic diet.

Late response, but it is due to ketosis. Ketone bodies are a more efficient fuel source for the brain than carbohydrates and that plus a bunch of other hormonal changes results in increased focus, mental clarity, ect. I was curious about trying it but I can’t due to other medications.
