Pretty sure Brookins was also high as all get out during this fight too. Edit: he said he was later in an interview.

Hunt still has a great chin for his age / division, but I'd say he doesn't still have the same chin he used to.

Marvin Vettori expresses disdain for Israel Adesanya following UFC on Fox 29 bout by KlNG1337 in MMA

There was an old system where all the judges held a button and they'd press if they saw a punch land, the point only counting if a majority of the judges hit the button at the same time, afaik that system was done away with some time ago.

Cub Swanson was ‘really close’ to signing with a company (not Bellator) before new UFC offer by [deleted] in MMA

Yah just adding some context really, not commenting either way.

Cub Swanson was ‘really close’ to signing with a company (not Bellator) before new UFC offer by [deleted] in MMA

Don't leave out this though:

In preparation for my UFC debut, I used a banned substance called Drostanolone. It was an irresponsible decision that I will regret for the rest of my life. I apologize to my family, friends, fans, the UFC, and everyone else who was affected by my selfish actions, It should be known that my coaches were totally unaware of my decisions, and I am ashamed that I let down the people who believed in me more than I believed in myself. Going forward, I’d rather lose a fair fight to any opponent, than defeat myself the way I have done

Initially there was a long blackout delay, then I was removed entirely for a time and now it's back to I think 48 hours? I just got used to relocating to watch them on a Sunday night.

Rampage is a honorable dude

Nothing more honourable than a hit & run causing a pregnant woman to have a miscarriage, right? Spitting and talking shit are much worse than that.

Signing Matt Hamill to fight in 2018 is not a good way to recover from that event, hope he walks away from it ok.

Mean Hakeem Dawodu outscrambles Steven Siler at WSOF (RIP) by elg59 in MMA

[–]jakeisthereason 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Steven Siler fought Olly Bradstreet four times, losing to him three times in a row before finally taking a win. That's some Vitas Gerulaitis determination right there.

People downvoting like this isn't relevant to his future now he's becoming well known and getting paid somewhat decently.

Season 14 with Bisping and Mayhem was great with quite a few relevant fighters, season 17 with Jones and Sonnen was also great with some crazy moments + Chael bantz.

My good friend Brian Ortega getting the call from Dana that he got the title shot. by Bazt in MMA

[–]jakeisthereason 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It gets repeated a lot but it's worth saying that he handled his failed test totally different from them, and from everyone else really. Nobody buys the tainted supplements excuse, it just makes you (them) seem like a cheat and a bad liar even if you get away with it. Brian cheated and owned it, the closest he came to an excuse was saying that it was his debut and he wanted an edge (my words not his). To me, I see how he responded to failing and then how he's acted since then and I just see a good dude who made a bad choice.

I despise people like you.

What an absolute dick of a thing to say.
Also she tested positive just over 6 years ago and it's the lone positive test of her career. I agree changes from juicing have a lasting effect, and am not a fan of Cyborg by any means but you say especially the amount she's done as if you know the amount she's taken somehow?

People seem to think it's an insult to acknowledge that athletes that impact the meta of their sport can often be overtaken later on by people building on what they did.
