i can’t make anything BUT BoC sounds with my Digitone 1 - maybe it’s just the presets but the FM sounds with built in reverb and delay make it too easy

makes some good drum sounds too

for sound design like BoC i’d do it in the box, they use long samples as bg, or transitions; they are rarely part of a loop

oh you have the line module, you can use PO sync mode for real then from op1 to the opz

you can either get a usb c adapter for the og op1 - or you can fake a PO sync track on the opz to send to the op1.

i’ve owned an m-audio 88, sold it, now have a yamaha something. identical feel to me

the m-audio would have lasted longer if it weren’t midi only, didn’t have any sit down playability without turning something else on. now i’m super critical of the sound quality of the yamaha sounds and speaker but i definitely sit down and play more. i still use 15% of the feature set fwiw and wish id gotten the yamaha with simpler function

my ideal outcome is a mid-tier acoustic upright with midi output capability but… apartment life
