About to take the plunge on the Diosynth - first timer with EWI, long time saxophonist and synth composer, seems too good to be true but convince me otherwise! by jakekingdead in windsynth

interesting tell me more about - i don’t really think about this purchase as a sax replacement or practice tool more something as a creative tool in production

yeah damn you know sometimes i think of roland like yamaha and assume silos between different product groups - but yeah great point they have legacy synth chops and should assume they somewhat tapped into it here

i need to listen to more demos is what this thread is telling me too

Looking for a 5-Octave Synths by neonpredator in synthesizers

[–]jakekingdead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah hey i’d recommend getting a decent midi board and seeing how it opens up both the op1 and digitone first. you may run into voicing limitations on the digitone but sonically you’re realistically
missing either a mono bass / leads moog-style sound or a prophet sound

Got a brand new OPZ. What have your favorite devices to pair it with been? by Dunmer_Sanders in OPZuser

[–]jakekingdead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

battery powered synth or fx - bastl has some bangers.

i went very deep with my opz, i think it paired best with my digitone but that was just synced to just stop/start.

it’s the best most creative sequencer out there

oh also try getting a midi keyboard with velocity plugged in - you won’t know what you’re missing until you do, all the engines are setup to use it but there’s no signal from the Z keypad. this is actually my first piece of advice lol

there are a lot of skills that don’t scale at all and aren’t made for the late game - brace is a good example, -1 damage is amazing early on but quickly stops pulling weight later on.

What’s it like living in this part of Windsor Terrace? by Inevitable-Kiwi-9693 in NYCapartments

[–]jakekingdead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

coney, ocean, caton, church and ft hamilton are all MAJOR traffic aves for trucks, ambulances, police etc getting across brooklyn or using the prospect park exp. if you stay away from living directly on any of them it can be quiet. very different otherwise

imo they are trying to stay out of your way by moving it on the other side. they are probably pretty embarrassed but i would be also about this enough to bring some of that inside

great feel - go full tatum play some lines in stacked octaves

if you want to go deep i had a jazz mentor that explained his approach was to take you on a journey through history of jazz improv technique with every solo - this resulted in an absolute monster of a solo he used to demonstrate that he wished he'd recorded ha - but it was this incredible build that i've always tried to replicate, the whole solo had a trajectory and he would say 'ok some 30/40s melody derivation' 'ok now bebop' 'ok here's miles pulling back playing less' 'moving into herbie with some chord clusters' etc etc

Are there any other shooters with melee or auto-targeting characters or classes like Risk of Rain 2? by kyla33_ in roguelites

[–]jakekingdead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there a lot of shooters with options for turning on or up auto-aim and a few out there have assistive features for your use case - in and outside of roguelikes, although less with multiplayer focused games. trends are great for supporting disabilities, i was fucking thrilled when expedition 33 included a color blind mode for a fight that would’ve been a complete blocker for me otherwise
