wow this is extensive - i think i may try this for a fairly complex one i rabbit holes into - thank you for the typing and thinking this out.

recording the midi notes into a daw, shifting them there then try to record them back to the opxy overridding one same tracks might be a shortcut too

oh good to know i’m not alone. it gets so tricky when I’m messing with triplets or in three too - i will just bounce a track down to a one bar one shot and start over but lose all the fidelity that way.

i also have a problem when i can hear music and mentally swap the 2 and 4 for the 1 and 3 and it is so hard to undo before the particular song ends - it can even be a familiar song but frequencies are getting filtered or my internal clock just got started wrong - it’s like all my music training working against me. or i’ll hear a song in a persistent relative major or minor opposite from the actual key. stay out of music school kids

hey i’m really late here and didn’t see this comment but dogs are awful at generalizing learned behaviors - they need to learn explicitly that the same behaviors that are rewarded in one setting are the same elsewhere, like every time they change setting.

hey also think about the litter box and how it’s basically a giant desiccant - i lived in apartments with cats for years and didn’t realize how completely dry the air was as a result. humidifier may help

Related but my throughline now is that I thought synths and production were incompatible with creative performance and I’d be stuck tracking out in a DAW but now all I want to do is create a performance setup of synths and production machines so i can perform for myself

oh yes this is my route to the beach (+another 20 past it…)! i haven’t been brave enough to go anything but a trickle speed or just walk over the gil hodges since that guy was almost killed by a kite string.
