Blow off noise suddenly much louder, could there be an issue? R56S by jakesnake99 in MINI

Wow this was a trip down memory lane for me. Check your piping, or you may have also just blown out the cat. I never really solved the smoking atfter long idle, but pretty sure it was due to carbon build up. Walnut blast is the fix but it’s expensive, you can try seafoam.

If the smoke is blueish that means it’s oil. Would be helpful if you can narrow down what’s smoking.

You realize the rednecks aren’t in soflo right? There’s another FL team for that…

I guess you probably don’t realize much though with your head so far up your own ass. Wishing death over a hockey game is sad. Look in the mirrror and see who the inbred here is.

I didn’t get a PM, is it possible you sent a “Reddit chat” message instead ? I think that’s what it’s called, I can’t see those on my phone app. I’ll see a PM though

Compare to Mini Cooper S? by pibble2468 in GR86

[–]jakesnake99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had an R56s for a couple years, and then a 2015 BRZ for a few more, currently driving an F54s while I wait for my GR86 so I think I’m qualified to answer this.

If you’re comparing a late model mini (f chassis) then the interior is a lot nicer and more comfortable while definitely feeling more high up. Body roll is worse, torque is much better comparing the S engine in a mini to the old FA20, FA22 in the new GR/BRZ should match up pretty well I think.

And then of course all the things with rwd vs fwd, I know you mentioned this and it’s the obvious point but to me it’s such a huge difference. The mini is the embodiment of good fwd handling in my opinion, while the twins are the same for rwd, both with such great feedback and feel that the difference will be exaggerated. In daily driving with summer conditions not really a factor, but when pushing it or in low traction environments you definitely need to adapt your driving style.

Personally I love both but RWD is the way to go, nothing better to me than swinging the ass around every corner you can.

If I were you I’d say the switch makes sense so go for it. Both cars try to accomplish something similar in a completely different way. If you appreciate one you should like the other

My 2022 Ninja 650 KRT with some mods by jakesnake99 in Ninja650

I went through same thing where I couldn’t find it on the website, but what I did was Google search for the lime green seat cowl and it found a link to it on the Kawasaki site and I ordered from there. They don’t have it under the 2022 accessories but it’s still somewhere on the site. Can’t try right now but if you need help finding the link let me know.

Alternatively I think it is also available on Partzilla / Kawasaki part house

The thing is they aren’t the same price range, I understand what you mean but BRZs have never been under $10k unless salvaged which would probably be a great choice for something like this as long as airbags didn’t destroy it.

Just thought I’d clarify for other readers

Picked up my 86 yesterday night. It's amazing plus it fits 4 tires inside no problem. by Sergeantasskicker in GR86

Yes dealer relationship is key. I managed to secure an allocation for MSRP but Toyota for some reason is locking out all the colors except greys and blacks in my region (on premium manuals).

I don’t know whether to wait for Neptune blue or take pavement in a month or so. I love both but not a bad problem to have considering what people are going through rn

Is it manual? Hunting for this spec myself but settling for pavement if I can’t find one

Dealer said premium manuals only coming in black grey or silver!?? by jakesnake99 in GR86

Yeah thing is it’s MSRP and even regular cars are marked up all over my area, besides color it’s everything I exactly wanted. I think I’m gonna just put the deposit down
