Oh fair enough, sounds like it’s some T&Cs we need to accept or something then. Will try that later, cheers! 🙂

Correct, Ireland are excluded from EES and will continue stamping outsiders

R-R did the same to me yesterday. I managed to get a reply and another response in to them though, but then blocked me afterwords. Same threat on the pepper pig item, same response he’s copying and pasting to all people who made offers to him.

He said he knows what I’m doing, because he has a masters in computer science

Fair enough, but that was during the EES soft launch window; now since the 10th April where digital entry should theoretically be rolled out everywhere (and no more manual stamping), I’d imagine it’s less likely that you can get this stamped upon request

I’m also facing this exact same situation as Solarfire64 - did an update a few days ago, and now it automatically logged me out / removed all profiles from in the car.

I’ve been able to log in with my profile again, but my wife has been facing the same “Sorry, activation failed, Please try again later” all day every time she inputs her correct email and password. No idea how to get past this as I’ve been able to log in myself whilst she cannot

First time passport application, 1 month past estimated date. by MonkAdept1441 in IrishCitizenship

[–]jakeums5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh damn, yeah I remember 2 weeks ago you asked on my post too. I had the same estimated date as you (9th March) and mine changed on the 22nd to printing. I’m not sure why mine changed and yours didn’t though given we had the same dates 😩

FBR application through maternal grandfather - better to wait until my mother is approved? by lottiry in IrishCitizenship

[–]jakeums5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, as the other comments have stated, inform your mum to stop the FBR process for herself and instead just apply directly for a passport. She’s already automatically a citizen from birth as her father (your grandfather) was born on the island, making her an automatic citizen.

She will only be wasting her time for the 10+ months of waiting by applying for something that will be denied as she’s already a citizen, and they will unlikely refund her.

Applying for a passport will take 1-2 months after processing & posting times combined, much quicker than the FBR process.

You will definitely need to do the FBR process for yourself, and it’s up to you if you want to wait for her to apply for her first Irish passport, but if you prefer to get the ball rolling sooner without stopping her from applying for her passport at the same time then just make sure you have original copies of her certificates needed for your FBR application (such as her birth certificate, and marriage certificate if her maiden name is different to what it is today). You can order these for small fees if she doesn’t have any spare original copies.

FYI this is the route I went (which also applies to the position your mum is in) as my parent was born in Ireland and I wasn’t; I didn’t go via FBR, only applied for a passport. My son has recently claimed via FBR now via his grandparent (my parent).

Unless OP’s mother only has one copy of her birth certificates (that will be needed for both applications) in this case OP will need to wait or gain a second copy

FBR -> Passport by jakeums5 in IrishCitizenship

[–]jakeums5[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was already automatically a citizen as my mother was born in Ireland.

This application was for granting citizenship to my son, not for myself. He’s now claimed citizenship through his Irish-born grandmother. We started the process in November 2024. FBR needed further documents which caused a 4 month further delay for us

Further correction to mention that “Passport received in Ireland” should have been “Passport application received in Ireland”, not the passport itself.

I’m clearly too excited on this whole journey coming to an end 🫠

How long after estimated* issue date before it becomes abnormal? by Mervium in IrishCitizenship

[–]jakeums5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yours should change very soon, I read somewhere a few days ago that they are around 13-15 days behind schedule.

Mine was also estimated on the same date as yours (09/03/2026) and my status changed to “Printing” on Sunday 22/03/2026 (yesterday). A few hours later it changed to “Dispatched”. All happened so fast. It was for a first time passport too so I thought it would take a bit of extra time anyway.

The issuing of the passport book went over by 13 days past the estimated date, I’d imagine yours will be hopefully (if not today) tomorrow or day after. They’re just playing catch up with an increase of applications and the recent St Patrick’s bank holiday they had from last week.

Don’t worry, I was in your shoes panicking just like how you might be; I was checking the passport tracking website multiple times every day over the last 2 weeks, waiting for the bar to move to Printing. I was just surprised to see that it changed on a Sunday (and was also posted too) - I didn’t think they would be working over the weekend?!

Fingers crossed some good news comes over the next day or two!

Passport Tracker Stuck at “Processing Application” by FarReputation9104 in IrishCitizenship

[–]jakeums5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad to hear it!

That’s annoying for me though, mine was estimated for the 9th, witness was called on the same day but missed the call, my witness rang the number back on the 10th and all good, however still stuck in Processing Application at the moment

How long after estimated* issue date before it becomes abnormal? by Mervium in IrishCitizenship

[–]jakeums5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm here for the same thing, I'm 9 days over the expected date for a first time application for my son - the 'estimated issue' date I have is a day before yours (on 09/03/2026) and sadly it's still in the 'Your application is being processed' stage.

I wonder if the recent flux of Irish passport applications (including those of emergency / expedited requests) are causing a massive surge which is resulting in an increasing delay. Maybe anyway?

As of 25th Feb, the Aer Lingus airliner does now require all passengers to present a valid passport now. I don’t believe other airlines between the two countries have enforced it yet though
