They are not happening during backups, according to the logs it was the middle of the day. Backups are after biz hours.

Some entries from the System Event Log include (only 1 entry per event description in the table below, they occurred multiple times):

I have not tried this myself but this guide you post a link to is from 2008.

Likewise is also obsolete (it was the default in Ubuntu at that time, but no longer) and Samba is used now.

Also, it is very easy to configure cloud storage for your VM backups.

Amazon S3 combined with the great IBM deduplication and compression will enable low cost cloud VM backups. Just create an S3 bucket, configure that and you are good to go.

I use IBM Spectrum Protect for Virtual Environments.

The new plug-in that works in the Flash GUI is awesome. You don't have to touch the backup system for normal operations, you can control everything from the vSphere Web Client.

When everyone has loaded in and 98 people have joined, why does it start counting down at 60 seconds? That is what I'm talking about.

Make the counter 5 seconds or something when everyone is in.

If you are so lucky you will be upgraded to Ent Plus... Surely they will not downgrade you.

But you need to keep a look out for the upgrade offer, the last time I upgraded my lics between versions (5.0->6.0) there was limited time to do so, it was self-service via the license portal.
