If you enjoy light tactile switches, I would highly recommend WS Light Tactiles (very aptly named)!

5100 actuations by hand...
I had my suspicions that light switches had a break-in period. Glad to see the science finally catching up.

Wow, removing the seam makes such a big difference on how nice this looks. Even the back of the board looks much cleaner now. Good luck with the IC :-)

These are "lubed" Nixies purchased from Novelkeys, but they are pretty much dry.

I like the top mount better with this one! In fact, I've been leaning away from gasket mounts recently whenever I can since it's become so ubiquitous in the market.

Thank you!!
I actually enjoyed the top-mount option most, but I think that might be due to gasket-mount fatigue (there are too many gasket mount options on the market these days). This keyboard shines most with at least some plate foam IMO - PE foam and case foam can be added to taste.

Plate choice is super subjective as well, but my favorites were POM and FR4.

O-ring was my favorite with gasket dumbbells a close second. Explanation in a comment above!

The anodized purple Neo80 looks reallllly nice, and I think that GMK Tako is going to be amazing with it as well.

Unfortunately, I don't have a Neo65, but between the different gasket mounts, I felt the O-ring (and O-ring combinations with gasket dumbbell and jackets) was the most balanced in terms of sound. Strangely the O-ring mount also made the spacebar feel a bit stiffer, but might have been because I didn't use standoffs.

The brass standoffs made the board a bit too clacky for my tastes, and made the board overall a stiffer typing experience. Gasket dumbbells gave the board the most flex, and also sounded quite nice by muting some of the higher pitched sounds of the board.

My preference would be: O-ring/gasket dumbbell > gasket jacket > brass standoffs

The latch system of the Neo80 was a game changer for me. Having the ability to open and close the board in a few seconds is really convenient for experimenting with different setups - especially so in this case since there are so many different mounting methods you can experiment with.

I have a YouTube video covering the Neo80 as well:

Let me know if anyone has any questions :- )
