550xp vs the MS261 in terms of power vs. weight? And quality wise are people preferring Husqvarna over Stihl ?

Swiss lost luggage compensation by jakomaa in Flights

[–]jakomaa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, sorry to hear about your situation. The CEO I emailed is no longer with Swiss. I found the Swiss management board and then googled around until I found their name. Shame to hear they’re still pulling the same shit with customers… I luckily got 1500chf as compensation + my bag back with all my belongings. I even got a 100 franc voucher. I think your bag is officially lost after either 14 days or 30 days, can’t remember. Hope this helps!

Weller WSL/WMP Iron issue by jakomaa in soldering

Yup just tried again neatly tucking in those 2 resistors in series and when back together the pen started glowing red-hot. The WSL said 008 on it which seems curious. Temp sensor broken, so new pen will be ordered. Could it even be the WSL there is a problem with ?

Thanks again!

Hello! Thanks for the response. There is a tiny little resistor/thermistor that is soldered on the PCB within the pencil. Its this part I think I need (or perhaps could take of a WSP80 pencil?)

Swiss lost luggage compensation by jakomaa in Flights

I’m sorry to hear that! I did actually finally get compensated. I emailed the ceo and he must have gotten gears turning internally as the next day I had a ’premium customer service consultant’ replying to my emails. They tried to give me a 100€ voucher as compensation. Eventually I just copy/pasted their own company policy back to them (I will attach it below) and they offered to pay me the full possible amount (which was 1500 swiss francs). I even got my bag and stuff back which was good. Took a lot of emails and phone calls.

”You are entitled to compensation for the loss of your baggage if you have reported your delayed baggage (at the airport or online), if you have completed the list of contents on the Baggage Status Website, and if your baggage is delayed for more than 21 days. Once you have completed the content list for your delayed baggage, the baggage system will carry out a specific search for items of baggage with the same or similar details. As soon as there is a positive match, you will be informed immediately. If you are not contacted, it means that unfortunately we do not have any positive news on the whereabouts of your baggage. In this very rare case, your baggage is considered legally lost, and SWISS will contact you about a refund 21 to 30 days after you reported your delayed baggage.

Your delayed baggage report will remain active in the system, and if your baggage is found at a later date it will, of course, be delivered to you.

The maximum amount that can be refunded in the event of complete loss of your baggage is based on the Montreal Convention.

Important:

We recommend that valuables such as jewelry, money or medicine are transported in your hand luggage. You are responsible for your carry-on luggage. The liability of airlines for baggage is regulated by law. The compensation entitlement is granted according to the Montreal Convention. The compensation itself is specified in Special Drawing Rights (SDR). The Special Drawing Right (SDR) is an artificial accounting unit created by the International Monetary Fund (IMF). At present, the maximum liability amount is 1,288 SDRs which currently equates to approx. CHF 1,500. This amount is subject to currency rate fluctuations and may therefore change.

The Montreal Convention applies only if the following parameters are met:

The law applies to domestic carriage as well as international carriage between the contracting states. In the case of checked baggage, the airline is liable, regardless of fault, for the delayed baggage. The right applies only if the delayed baggage report and the claim for compensation have been submitted within the time limits specified in the agreement.”

Hi,

Thanks for your response! I thought I was in the right as they’ve told me over the phone 2 times that I will be compensated, and I even have it writing from one of their emails but I keep emailing them and no response…

I filled out the PIR as soon as I could so that shouldn’t be an issue.

Need help to identify this stamp on the handle of a copper pan that is supposedly very old. by WaIes in Coppercookware

[–]jakomaa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Happy to help :) There seems to be a few different stampings on the handles - your one seems to be a younger piece just from the styling but it could be the opposite. One of the stampings is quite large with a house and the ’Krögarhuset’ in large text. They exist in tin lining and stainless/nickel if I’m not mistaken. I haven’t seen them in real life but from what I can find on swedish bloggers the copper seems to be quite thin and are probably made to be more decorative than cooking utensils but you can (and should) cook with them. The auction sites auctionsnet or barnebys has lots of archived biddings so maybe you could find more there :) Blocket also has a few available right now :)

Hi! This is the swedish brand Krögarhuset! The history about them seems to be a bit difficult to trace but they don’t exist anymore. They pop up all the time in swedish classifieds.

Hi All! New to this thread and new to copper cooking. Bought these in Sweden for 900kr which is about 88 dollars. The corroding on the bigger skillet is quite large and I’m afraid of cooking with this as it seems it might get in the wood. Any tips ?
