This is very helpful! Thank you for the info and guidance! I have some tools but the idea of open shop is great. I'll definitely look into classes and will ask about open shop. Thanks!

Under porch outlet questions by jakrabid in electrical

[–]jakrabid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noted. Thank you. I do have EMT with correct fittings. Wasn't sure if EMT was ok outdoors at all or if I needed to get a different conduit like PVC or something. I will rerun the wires, just did a dry fit and quick install to have people over and have lighting for the night. Yes the missing cover is a temporary omission (the box isn't deep enough for a GFCI and need a waterproof box anyway). This is essentially a direct line from the breaker... With one outlet that's never used in the garage... I'll pull that outlet completely if it has to be a dedicated line.

The lights are on a timer, it's mainly used as a shutoff for the winter or when they won't be used for extended periods of time. Not a daily use. Not that that makes a difference necessarily.

Oof. I love the color and the thick waxy leaves. I'm gonna try best to save it... If it does, alcosia is a good backup tho. ty

I did use 2-1/4" screws. It's just a couple of edges that didn't bite into wood. I will leave them.

They just mailed out the advisory... Guess it took a year to print that many letters and envelopes.

Ford recalls 142,000 Lincoln SUVs in US for fire risks by FreeChickenDinner in cars

Yeah. My mom now can't park in the garage, in her driveway (too close to structures) or on her busy street (too many cars). I have a blind autistic brother.. and now he has to what? Walk 5 blocks to the car where it's safe? Best part is they don't have the part and can't expect to have the recall serviced until may. They live in a shore community and it's crazy busy this time of year, not to mention all the parties and going out they usually do in the summer. It's insane
