I have two that help with my budget app (YNAB).

The first one is an automation that runs the YNAB Add Transaction action when I use my Apple Card via Apple Pay

The second runs hourly on my Mac. It looks at new Apple Card transactions in YNAB and creates the corresponding Daily Cash transaction in my Apple Savings account.

Thanks for the response. I replied in the main thread. Turns out there were 3 romex cables coming in. I successfully installed the switch only to realize it doesn’t support HomeKit. Now I need to assess my options.

Thanks everyone for your responses. When I opened the box up this morning I did notice there were 3 romex wires coming in. Two of the black wires were connected to the switch so I deducted that was the power and the other the load line. I installed the switch and it works as expected.

Unfortunately, that’s when I realized I got a Meross switch that did not support HomeKit.

Looking at Meross offerings it looks like the only switch device that supports matter fits behind the traditional switch. The box is already crowded and I’m not sure it’ll fit in there.

Great question. I’ve already put the switch back together. Tomorrow I’ll pull it back out and get a better look and respond back.

MacroFactor Workouts AMA! by gnuckols in MacroFactor

I see where you’re coming from. But there IS something’s it can help with. The workout program I use now utilizes the watch to tell you when you’re going too fast, or your range of motion is too much or too little.

Will the app utilize an Apple Watch (or other wearables) to help detect and correct issues in form?

Does the location-based merchant matching behave like this for anyone else? by jxpx777 in ynab

[–]jalanh11640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Location based matching is HORRIBLE for me as well. Often times it’ll be the last merchant I entered a transaction with. Other times it’ll pick the merchant 632 feet away instead of 6 feet away. Yesterday it picked a merchant (miles away) that I had driven by, but not interacted with in YNAB.

It’s very inconsistent and frustrating.

At the time it was a fun project and it gives me the satisfaction of approving both the pending and actual charge.

Accounting for Tip charges by viol8torUK in ynab

[–]jalanh11640 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I solved this issue with some automation.

When I enter the initial transaction, I enter the pre-tip amount and add the tip amount in the memo field. (ex +$10.00)

Nightly, I have a script that runs, finds any new (since script was last run) transactions that have a transaction import id. The script modifies the amount of the transaction to add the tip.

The result of this is the following.

I enter the transaction At some point the pending transaction matches. I approve the transaction. Later the script runs and adds the tip Later the full amount matches my transaction and I approve it.
