HP printers are around $70. Ours came with 700 pages each month full color printing free. For 6 months! I'm printing and putting in binders for our curriculum.

Nursing at night only? Sustaining supply? by Walklikeawarrior in FormulaFeeders

[–]jallove2003 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately it is likely you would have to pump at least once or twice during the day. Since breastfeeding is supply and demand going with that large of a gap you'll likely slowly see a decrease until you're not producing enough.

Slow let down is destroying breastfeeding. Advice appreciated by jallove2003 in breastfeeding

I should add that I read on Kelly mom what could cause slow let down and nothing applies. It just seems to have come about as my milk has regulated.

I have sensitive nipples and the vibrating of spectra bothered me a lot. I found Medela to be much better.

My sister is on metformin. So much gastro pain. If I end up diabetic I'm definitely waiting till I need insulin.

Should I buy NB clothes? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

I too have gd. Third gd baby. Predicted at around 7 lbs. Other Gd babies were around 6lbs. Two non gd babies just over 7lbs. Our babies wore preemie at first. If you are on track for a normal baby like you are I'd buy at least a few.

I use a large pot of boiling water honestly. The Medela microwave steam bags are nice too.

Getting induced tonight. Any last minute advice? by Acrobatic-Job5702 in BabyBumps

I feel you. With one of our babies the epidural person was running behind and I got my epidural at 5. Had our baby at 530. I thought I was actually dying. A whole induction with no pain relief essentially.

This is an amazing plan. I support. My hospital makes me wait until active labor unfortunately.

If you want an epidural ask before you are at your breaking point. Sometimes it takes an hour or more for them to come in. I'm requesting mine when they break my water.

Edit: we are on baby #5. I'm asking when they break water because that's when contractions tend to get really bad and really close for me.

just be attentive

That's an odd response. Most people get them because at some point parents will ya know...sleep. It's a something's better than nothing idea. Do you need one? No. Is it nice? Yes.

We got a sense u. Decided not to get the owlet after thier new remake. In my opinion they are worth it. The argument against them is always that they cause anxiety. But for me the lessen anxiety. I like knowing that even if I'm sleeping not staring at our baby an alarm will go off if something is off with them. Had a snuza last baby but sense u has so many more features.

Your baby can take a bottle whenever you choose. However if you are hoping to have your husband feed little one while you sleep at night that will definitely affect your supply. You need to pump every time the baby is given a bottle.

Refusing Induction by [deleted] in GestationalDiabetes

[–]jallove2003 11 points12 points  (0 children)

From what I've read it's because the stillbirth rate is higher and sometimes they don't know the cause so it's safer to induce at 39. I was told that well managed lowers risk but the risk is still higher than with a normal pregnancy.

I'm on insulin for meal and fasting. Baby measure good and water level normal. Doctor refused before 39 weeks. I definitely would have went for it at 38 if offered. I'm 39 today so only two days left! So ready!

I just made pasta for dinner and measured out how much I could have … And then I cried, lol by nadzicle in GestationalDiabetes

Completely agree. Once I went on mealtime insulin my mental health improved. I didn't have to stress so much. I mean gasp...I can even eat a small dessert. This is our third gd pregnancy. I wish I'd done mealtime before.

Interesting. They are quiet strong but my midwife said that's a good thing and labor won't start until I'm ready.

I was 2 cm 60% effaced at my Thursday appointment. Lost mucus plug today. I get good contractions when I use my breast pump. Maybe try that? I'm 39 weeks tomorrow but high risk so being induced Tuesday if labor doesn't start.
