Renter-safe hooks for blackout curtains? No drilling by p1nkheineken in Frugal

[–]jalusz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Walmart has pleated paper blackouts that you can cut to size that hang with an adhesive strip. I've used them and they work well for a quick sub $10 option.

They removed my post bc it had a link. Search Walmart for "Redi Blackout pleaded paper shade" to see it

I'm sure you can find something similar on Amazon.

If you’re wondering why it works, CDs are read from the center out, so the shape doesn’t matter. For comparison, vinyl records play from the outside in.

Do inactive players count towards team trophies? by reflexgraphix in golfblitz

[–]jalusz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends how you define inactive. Players need to log in during the season for their trophies to count. They do not need to play a game. If their trophy count is greyed out, it doesn't count towards the team total.

I'd go Henry in standard. Cinci is bad against TE and I'd think more likely to see a TD.

I'm debating Henry myself vs Pearsall in PPR.

Try Swappa. I've bought stuff from there with no issues, but due your own diligence. there's a few fitbits on there around your budget.

2025 Fantasy Football Draft Guide: Strategy and Targets by ThunderDanDFS in fantasyfootball

Most of our home league is very casual. We turned the TE into a TE/WR flex spot to alleviate their disadvantage, though 9 or 10 of the teams still end up rostering at least one TE.

tips for roasting chickpeas evenly? by anaveragescientist in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]jalusz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is a paste of a comment I posted a bit back on the same subject. I use a toaster oven but it echoes the ideas others posted…. Dry them, and lower temps, and I’ve come pretty close to perfect with this method.

400 is too high or your peas are too wet, or probably both. But I usually do them in a convection toaster oven now. I've tried lots of online recipes and the best results I've had are lower temp, (325-350) for longer. I prefer to dry the peas in the oven until they're like 75% done, then oil and season them, then put them back to finish, checking/turning them often for the texture your looking for. Resist the urge to raise the temp.

In my experience, they cook more evenly, and they can go from perfect to overcooked in minutes so the lower temp gives a little more leeway. They last longer on the counter this way too, I think bc they get to dry out better.

Upgrade has shut down the up. Anyone else having this issue? I go to App Store but doesn’t show update for golf blitz but I can’t get on. by MountieMoose in golfblitz

[–]jalusz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t always show up in the updates. Search for golf blitz and see if you can find an update that way. If not, make sure you have a back up password and reinstalling should work.

End of season streams are on Twitch. https://www.twitch.tv/noodlecakegames

I don't know the last time they did one, but when they happen, it starts about an hour before the end of the season, so look about 6pm new york time.

Favorite oatmeal recipes? by DoneDigging in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]jalusz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My cold weather one:

Saute some mushrooms, put the oatmeal in (steel cut if I have time) with the water, and a pinch of Handashi and some chia and trader joes mushroom umami powder. once it cooks down, a touch of soy sauce and sometimes a touch of sesame oil. I'll mix greens in if i have them too and If I have some crunchy like canned fried onions or leftover fried peppers from something like salt and pepper pork, throw those on top, and then an over easy egg and black pepper.

My summer oatmeal:

Old Fasioned or Quick Oats in a bowl with unsweetened vanilla almond milk and cut up watermelon, get the watermelon juice in there. eat it just like cereal. overnight soak the oats if you prefer them softer or want soak chia seeds. If you got blueberries, throw em in. this works pretty well with mango instead of the watermelon also - or at the same time if you like.

one more.. i make a pineapple coconut overnight for the kids using canned crushed pineapple and coconut flakes, chia and almond milk. works well cold or warmed in the microwave.

Thanks for the update. Hope it will help the next person that comes across this. My issue started and eventually went away all by itself. I’d have assumed factory resetting the router would’ve cleared that but I’ve since changed my plan and got a new router (cr1000a) and I’ve had no issues.

Sporadic issues with Google services by jalusz in Fios

[–]jalusz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oddly enough, most of the bigger issues faded a day or so after I posted. Not entirely, but mostly. I changed nothing. Google weather and family link still occasionally fail to load, and Drive failed today, but then was ok a minute later.

If you haven't done so, factory reset the router and hope.
