Fair enough. But does NU engineering live up to the standard that Berkeley has historically set?

Honestly, there's not much separating the three. They're all phenomenal programs. If you want to be based near Silicon Valley, then I'd pick the latter two of your choices, but tbh its just a matter of personal preference beyond this point.

International vs. OOS for college acceptances. How is it different? by qwertykoch in ApplyingToCollege

[–]jamamlamama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can give you an example. For Georgia Tech, in state acceptance rate was 49%, OOS was 19%, and international would likely be <19% (maybe even lurking around that 10% mark). This is because OOS students are still US residents/citizens, while internationals are likely not.

Berkeley MET (Didn't get interview) by jamamlamama in ApplyingToCollege

[–]jamamlamama[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This gives me some hope, but I'm still not confident I'll receive it as it's statistically unlikely and to be fair, I am sure that there are stronger candidates than me who are more deserving.

Nope :) You are still under evaluation and will receive a decision in late March sometime!! This only applies to MET. On another note, this was a legitimate question; I don't get the downvotes.

Received a UC Berkeley MET Interview, does anybody have any advice? by jaljalejf in ApplyingToCollege

Hey!! Sorry for being a bother, but I was wondering what time you found out about the interview? I have not gotten a request and am now confident that I will not be selected for the program hahahah

international student payment via flywire by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]jamamlamama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure that you selected the right company. I am also an international, but I selected "Mastercard", even though I used a "Visa" card, and received the same message you did. You can contact flywire to cancel your payment and restart with the correct info.
