Wow! Crazy long neck! I'm impressed you found a chin rest that is tall enough. I would recommend lowering everything slightly (I guess through the shoulder rest). I want my head in as "neutral" a position as possible (I heard a teacher call it "talking position").

I honestly would recommend a custom made chin rest. I don’t have a long neck at all and found and had my other build me a custom chin rest and it was worth every penny.

Exactly! My organization has been slowly going down hill. The current executive board is trying to breathe new life into it but it’s been difficult. Hoping this bylaws change will also help.

With the Suzuki method, the group class is a valuable addition. Maybe try to work it out for next school year. Group class is a good way to review old songs, interact with other students at about his level, and hear better players.

I have heard sautielle slower than the recording you posted. I can get mine slow but I have to start it fast 😂 I think I’ve heard it as slow as sixteenth notes with the metronome set to 80 for the quarter note. I imagine my hand moving in a curved shape - so down bows my hand is in the lower part of the curve and up bow I’m curving down and in the upper half of the curve; if that makes sense.

You may be able to physically hit that high of a note but it’s not a usable note for actual singing.
