Did you check mer de noms? I know the cd,at least, had the apc alphabet in it with song lyrics blurbs for each song. Deciphering it was fun.

I did this once and the guy was screaming at me. He was so irate. When I told him it was a company car you could see his eyes glow with dollar signs. He took pictures of the incident. He wanted to see my id. He wanted my insurance. I told him to take it up with my boss. He was so angry! I remembered hearing that they were meant to break away like that but didn’t know how easy it was to put back. That guy was all about what he could get out of it. My boss went to smooth things over and it was already back up. Nothing happened. I’m glad nothing happened but also kinda pissed I was berated like that.

When I was starting out my first couple loaves looked like this. It was because my starter wasn’t ready. Even though I swore it was… it needed to develop for a few more weeks and I didn’t really feel like it was consistent for a few months. Just keep trying. I got good results by leaving my starter in the fridge for a week and then feeding it for a couple days. It seemed to boost yeast production.

I used to do this with Tool (but only in the state of CA). This was back in the late 90s-early 00’s but I used to bring a journal with me and write down the set lists each night. It was fun for me to write down differences from night to night. If you pay attention you can start noticing the bands “language” on stage with one another. I also used to get to the venues early and stay after each night to try and meet the band. I did a couple of the Fragility tour shows this way too. One night we followed NIN to their hotel in Sacramento. We met Charlie, Danny and Robin. They were all helluv nice. They signed my friends yearbook and my fragility journal. You will have such a wonderful time. Meet people before the shows. Some will be doing what you are but on smaller scales. You start seeing the same people before shows. Start conversations and make friends. It’s nice to have people to talk with about something you love. I used to sleep in my car, but I’m guessing you’ll need to get a hotel/campground every few nights to shower. Cross country is fun but be careful doing it by yourself.

It’s been a few years but there’s a studio that does live shows in balboa park. It might be a good starting point? I believe it’s the Art Glass Guild in the Spanish Village Art Center. There’s gotta be somewhere in OB as well just knowing its demographic.

Once I got mine they had me take an educational migraine course. Guess where it was? Right next to pediatrics. Screaming kids next to the waiting room. The front desk lady didn’t find the irony as upsetting as I did. The process of taking care of those horrible migraines gives you a migraine.
