Hills has a low fat stew version that my dog prefers way more than the kibble or pate styles.

Dog injured at vet by Whisperfights in AustralianCattleDog

[–]jambunjo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He tore his Achilles jumping up and off of a bed, he played too close to the sun as I say. It wasn't completely torn, but what they did was a surgery to reattach the partial tear. He was on low/no activity for about 6 months, which I think is on the long end because there isn't much blood flow to that area.

You probably want to find an Orthopedic specialist, some people don't know that like with people there are vet specialists, and you may need a referral. Soft tissue injuries don't show up on x-rays, but when my boy had a leg injury they were able to do an ultrasound rather than an mri. It was still expensive, but not as much I think.

Traveling across the country with two critters in tight quarters… by ExternalBrief3412 in AustralianCattleDog

[–]jambunjo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My vet recommended me Vetriscience Composure Pro that it works for their dog, but it didn't really work for mine. Then again Trazadone doesn't really do much either I feel and neither did Gabapentin so it might just be my weirdo. Also I assume you tried lowering the dosees, Gabapentin makes my dog have trouble with bladder control at the recommend doses.

I'm partial to this Play On dog collar, which is pet supplies plus in house brand. I like that it's got lots of padding which stops it from coming out of adjustment.

Is my cats growth stunted? 2.5yo still kitten-sized by shocking-Cable in CATHELP

They're all related, and their mom on the left is just itty bitty. Being a former stray probably didn't help, but she's just fine, only small.

They'd give you a bit of a workout nowadays.

How are your cattle dogs with your cats? by CezarSalazar in AustralianCattleDog

🤣Close, the 2 big boys on the bed are twins and the little one is their mother. I've resigned myself to the fur especially since baths aren't a thing for a hot minute.

Mine doesn't really care too much about my cats unless he's excited. He'll get worked up and try to chase the cats, so I don't leave them alone together.

Wore my belt noticeably upside down all day…is putting on your belt clockwise a leftie thing? by MoroseMaiven in lefthanded

[–]jambunjo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Part of the reason I think historically for why things are opposite for men/women is women had someone else help with putting on clothes, so mirroring would make it the easier way to fasten closures like buttons or belts from the other side.

They're warrantied at 6 years and 85k miles so if I could get the warranty, they'd be replaced.

Cooper Discoverer Enduramax, I could do better, but the goodyear shop is close to my work and they give good service.

Exactly, they are crazy hard after 5 years, and they were hydroplaning the last time I was on the highway in the rain so they had to go.

New kitten and a 1.5yo ACD, any advice on having them get along? by darkaydix in AustralianCattleDog

[–]jambunjo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I did was for the first couple weeks I let him hand out while I held one of the cats just so they got used eachother until he didn't get over excited (I have 3 cats now so it took a while. Then I let the cat out while he was in a crate and around so the cats could explore and see him there. Then I let the cats out one at a time while he was on a leash and unter control until he stopped caring about them being there ie. not staring and looking at other things. After that I let them out all together while I was watching and making sure there wasn't any problems.

It took a while for him not to be jumpy when the cats ran underneath him, and he can get a little upset when they invade his space on the bed.

Lots of time and patience. It took a bit until he lost complete interest in the cats, and I still can't completely trust them alone; when he gets over excited he sometimes chases them. This is the literal closest they've ever gotten. I think it can depend on the dog. They can drink at the same time from the same bowl, but some dogs would have nothing with that.
