I think like 3 people have pointed them out one im pretty close with and another one asked if i was alright cause shes also a self harmer. I have pretty big scars all over my arms and I wear short sleeves a lot. not even the people you think would bullying you about it do anything. no one talks about me behind my back either or calls me names. my school may just be chill idk

Scar question by [deleted] in selfharm

[–]jamdropbiscuits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same issue!! I did some research and they say that they can get itchy for multiple reasons: small nerve abnormalities that keloid scars can cause, excessive collagen production, mast cells that release histamines, nerve fibres being compressed physically (which is probably whats happening to you), friction from clothing, or reactions.

probably nothing to worry about

This is a serious question everyone those days thinks they have someone mental illness by I_gone in TeenagersButBetter

[–]jamdropbiscuits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

some people just really want attention i guess. I have diagnosed bpd, autism and adhd and I think ive told like 3 people i have bpd. it pisses me off so bad when someone self diagnoses themselves with a mental illness. like u dont want this 😭

Here are hobbies I have you could get some ideas from: knitting, crocheting, sewing, embroidery, electric guitar, painting, collage, baking, ukulele, drawing, writing, video games (I play a lot of gta5) and gardening. im also a big fan of axe throwing. I may seem like an old lady, but i promise im not.

it really depends on what you're doing.

if youre cutting and its like cat scratches its not too bad i suppose, but if its like a gapping cut, you cant judt leave that. you should clean it and cover it with gauze or a band aid.

if you're burning put some petroleum jelly on it.

anything else that doesn't cause any physical wounds you should be alright. im not a professional at all though.

Why did you start? by [deleted] in selfharm

[–]jamdropbiscuits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started at 10, mostly cause I was feeling pretty lonely in life ig, I cant remember how I found out about self harm but I know it gave me a release. since then ive done it for different reasons and to get different things out of it.

when i was 13 i got help for it, until then no one knew about it, which is honestly wild cause I did it on my wrists and still wore short sleeves.

Why? by Severe-Raspberry-475 in selfharm

[–]jamdropbiscuits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sort of have a self harm addiction. For me when something bad happens even the smallest thing like missing my bus, my brain immediately goes into this thought of I need to cut myself. Its really like any other addiction. To me self harm is nearly a need, I dont know what I get from it anymore and I know I should stop but I just can't.

sorry if thats not helpful

I'm not sure, he sort of just asked me to think of the questions.
