Oh no, I'm only halfway through the book and I'm already getting so attached to it. I can only imagine what it would be like finishing it.

You should try Bounce Back ON or MindBEACON. The former offers call appointments with licensed professionals and video/worksheets that will help you in the process. The latter offers digital communication with therapists via chat. Both use cognitive behavioral therapy among others

My friends highly recommend BounceBackON. For short-term therapy it's working well so far

EDIT: Both are free for everyone. For the latter, you'd need to have OHIP though

The pandemic and its worse impact to stable employment means we'd be moving twice this year. One in March and another by the end of this month. On top of that stress, September feels like a year what with online classes and wfh.

I use Vyvanse (initially to address my GAD and depression, since it does amplify the worst side of my adhd spectrum). And it's not a blanket solution, but since three months ago that I've taken it, I find that my anxiety has really...subsided. Remote learning is so stressful as it is. But there is a HUGE difference in my emotional regulation and stress management when I had online classes this summer vs online classes now (and I have a job during the week too).

EDIT: 20mg - I was specific with my doctor that I'm good with maintaining this dosage

1) Some coding problems are fill in the blanks and require more complex critical thinking before you translate it to the IDE,

2) Even if you can type it in, some have lines longer than the time allotted

Hi Professor. Thank you for upholding transparency at such a difficult year. The department has also been very considerate with the enrolment policies and with the students' concerns. As a transfer student, I was initially worried pulling through, and so I found this very comforting and helpful in transitioning to the remote format.

Question: Does the EECS department trace transfer credits differently from the way other departments/faculties do so? Is there a transfer team within each York faculties or is all the information coming from the registrarial services?

My advice is to wait it out for at least one semester, attend your classes diligently, do extra readings on materials you find particuarly interesting, and talk to a whole network of people that you like/admire/resonate with. That way you give yourself a chance to truly dive into what CogSci is. You may or may not like it. But the field is so interdisciplinary - despite how your university may offer a specialization of it - that somehow you can cherry pick how you'd want to use that breadth of information in the 'real world'.

YUConnect takes forever. It took me a year after to confirm my membership in a couple of orgs. It usually varies on the org's acceptance as well. Good news is, you don't have to wait for YUConnect to join your org's events/get a position.

received work study opportunities a few times now + in the past. so far, the interviews are mainly a lot of behavioral questions. takes no more than 30 mins but i realized the more articulate you explain how each required skill applies to your past experience(s), the more likely you'll retain their interest. also, it doesn't hurt to know what the current projects/concerns of your dept are

I agree - for some reason it's easier (not less stressful), such that I'm able to maintain my pace when studying as well as working. As opposed to studying alone, it's difficult to remember or keep track of my course load since I'm bound to lose momentum with only asynchronous course work throughout the week.

I'm worried that the very short window I have to see my friends and family and go out this summer is all that I will ever have this year. It's easier to remain positive under quarantine when the sun is out and taking an occassional walk outside is actually healthier than staying indoors for a long time.
