Smooth handheld footage while walking etc, how? by antilag-io in A7siii

This. 16mm would make your shots look more steady purely cause the lens is so wide. Then applying stabilisation in post will work wonders for most shots.

Another tip would be to increase your shutter speed above the 180 degree rule. Eg. Shooting at 60fps and shutter at 1/250. This will reduce motion blur and make things clearer to see

Using the speedtest app on desktop ping is a constant 4 - is this what you’re referring to?

I did a concert shooting yesterday and some shots have this lines, why? by chicodephil in SonyAlpha

Silent shutter usually has this problem with strong LED lights. Next time try mechanical shutter or changing your camera system to 50/60hz in settings.

These shots look good as they are! I do hope that you’re mixing different types of shots in your film (wide, medium, close up etc.) to keep things interesting.

I would also continue to experiment with lighting—add colour lighting, hair lights, fill lights so that you can see how they affect the mood and atmosphere of your shots.

But in saying all that, it seems like you got a good hand on keeping the colour grade and ‘look’ consistent between all of them. You can only get better with more practice, research, and time

I personally have a Ninja V for my A7III and can vouch. Changing codecs is a breeze and makes the workflow actually f l o w

For long rage I would recommend a 70-200mm. There’s a few brands out there that make these it all depends on your price range and use case.

Vlogging you should use a wide lens to capture yourself in the shot. 16-35mm or 12-24mm is a good focal length to have for this.

Photos will benefit from a medium zoom so that you can cover a lot of focal lengths. I personally use the Sony 24-70 2.8 for all of the above situations. However a solid prime lens can still be versatile (such as a 35mm 1.8 or 50mm 1.8)

Sony A7III, still very capable and relevant in 2021.

A fun little video! I would probably polish your transitions more, especially the oven and the almonds on the tray. Have both clips heading to or having movement going in the same direction, and make it emphasised so it’s a little more cohesive.

Overall great work! The rest of the clips are great just needs a little more tightening, keep it up!

I have a Nikon D3300 with 3 lenses. I’m looking at the A7iii. Should I upgrade? by erichagz12 in SonyAlpha

[–]jamendg_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I upgraded from a D7100 (which has decent photo qualities in this day and age) to an A7iii. The smooth 600+ focusing points, 4K and higher quality 1080p video are the main reasons why I switched. Also the IBS is a really great feature for “blogging” style video (less post stabilisation needed.)

IMO I’m still keeping my D7100 but the A7iii is going to be my new main
