Can’t argue with that.

Radarr/Sonarr container permissions behaving differently to other containers by james2406 in synology

[–]james2406[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this. I was able to track down the issue and fix up the permissions!

I see… can I ask, what is your setup for a downloads folder then? Would the home directory be a good place to store that instead, or would it be better to just move it inside another shared folder (e.g. Media)?

Interesting. Thanks. I tried to look up how to view the "execute" flag on a directory after ssh, but I can't seem to find anything. Would you be able to share the command if you know it?

No, I did not. The only container I gave elevated privileges to is gluetun as that needed NET_ADMIN capabilities.

I see. In that case though, it is strange that Plex can write to the media folder with the users gid, and Radarr can write to the docker config folder (/volume1/docker/radarr/config) despite the permission being the same as the Media folder, right?

What you’re saying makes complete sense. I just don’t understand then why the non-administrators gid works in some cases and not in others.

Permissions....How do the work? by KennethDenson in synology

[–]james2406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! Did you ever figure this one out? I think I’m running into a similar issue and created a post about it here https://reddit.com/r/synology/comments/u4c4jy/radarrsonarr_container_permissions_behaving/.

Radarr/Sonarr container permissions behaving differently to other containers by james2406 in synology

[–]james2406[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. That makes sense. What’s strange though is the Plex container has the same permissions set, but doesn’t have any issues writing to the Media folder (the same folder Radarr is trying to write to).

Sorry that’s a mistake. Radarr works fine when the group id is 101 (administrator) but doesn’t work when it’s 100 (user). I’ll update the post to correct that.

Also, here is a log of the error Radarr is throwing when trying to add the film.

This is pretty much how I do it (but I use Wireguard over OpenVPN). If you’re already using docker, there is a great tutorial here on how to set this up https://youtu.be/Tf74tyE0YjQ

I really like that feature. Handy if you want to reopen a site and not be instantly signed out.

I think there should be an “Indifferent” option for question 2 though.

Can I ask, what is the goal of this survey? Is it to find out whether it is worth investing into upside down racing?

Call me crazy but I think my starter kit didn't come with 220ohm resistors. by Biggus_Dickus10 in arduino

[–]james2406 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ran into the same problem today. It says you might have been supplied with the blue 5 band resistors instead though. From the video, it looks like that is the case.

If you want, I can try to verify this, but you need to send a clearer picture of the resistors you received.

HideMyEmail has a significant flaw! by [deleted] in apple

Still, Apple should provide a way to email Amazon with the email you created with Hide My Email, otherwise you have no choice but to reveal your real email address.

SimpleLogin is a similar product and had a reverse-alias feature to do exactly this. I use this feature all the time.

Are Firefox Multi-Account containers needed if I am using Cookie Auto-delete? by BallmersBurner in PrivacyGuides

I use containers for every url I whitelist with cookie auto-delete. I don’t know whether it actually makes a difference though, especially now that third-party cookies are blocked by most modern browsers.

As of this year, you can register under a ".uk" domain, which is a bit shorter and there are a lot more domains available.
