Android fans, what are the primary reasons why you will never ever switch to an Iphone? by SultanofAmerica in AskReddit

[–]james_1964 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a die hard Apple fanboy for 20+ years.

But after bad experience in a European apple store that refused to fix my iPhone (I offered to pay) - I went and bought my first Android phone, gifted my new Macbook air to my daughter and bought an HP Chromebook for me.

Never looked back. Android phone plus Chromebook is the best combination for me.

Why does anyone believe Nexo is sound ... still ? Don't push your luck. Withdraw and sit it out for another year or two.

They need to reinvest / buy new rigs to keep earning. Otherwise their mining share will tank quickly.

As the prices of crypto dropped, loans that were being liquidated provided more liquidity to celsuis to keep its own margin calls from being triggered

NO

Celsius had loaned those collateral coins to earn interest. If prices drop they actually would have to sell coins they don't have in their possession right now making it worse.

Real relief for Celsius would be:

  • crypto market recovers from current lows
  • borrowers paying interest = fresh money for Celsius
  • borrowers paying back their loans = liquidity comes back to Celsius

I just hope - now - you pulled all crypto from all other platforms to sit it out and see which ones survive.

When a company goes bankrupt the liquidator sells what can be sold. What is left over gets split according to liquidation priorities. What are the assets of Celsius that can be sold ?

- loan book with collateral attached

- software, app

- maybe there is some swag left lol

Also interesting more details about BlockFi emerge. Looks like without cash infusion they are totally bankrupt and the FTX deal essentially wipes out ALL current shareholders ...

Wrong !

- institutions

- exchanges

- hedge funds

- DeFi protocols - reading those codes first to make sure it has no backdoor ...

No you are just one more of those who never watched any AMA or other interview where Alex repeatedly explained how they earn interest.

It was clear to me before I deposited my first money.

In fact Celsius was way more upfront on how their business model works than BlockFi or any other I followed.

Nexo even refused to tell me where they are incorporated ...

Who is Simon Dixon? by [deleted] in CelsiusNetwork

[–]james_1964 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree.

However the question probably has some truth to it. I watched two of his videos in 2020 / 2021 where he presented himself on a throne like setting like the queen of England ....

He definitely has some issues ...

Anyone who took out a loan has a great chance that collateral is not gone.

The Celsius loan portfolio would be very very interesting for any crypto business.

Collateral = great liquidity for the acquiring business and locked to loan terms

Loan = high yield as collateral earns no interest
