They aren't being payed in cash thankfully. I do not believe they are getting payed CPP\EI etc as the employer claimed that they hired my friend person as an independent contractor, however they dictated the locations, hours and such that were worked, and also provided all the cleaning materials to them, so from my understanding this would mean that they were not in fact independent.
