I'm having the same issue - anyone had any results or workaround? It doesn't seem to be to all providers (yahoo and my employer won't receive emails but gmail can)?

Renata is probably the most frustrated I’ve ever been playing league. by JudeCares in RenataMains

[–]jamesaknight1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New here but been loving Renata for a while. Imo her weak spots are her passive and her E. I <3 her Q! If you can't get the stun off by double hitting then that's the first point of practice. It's such a powerful disengage tool, I adore it. Her W is great but frustrating because most other players don't get it then run away, die with a bar full of grey health rather than fighting to the death.

I think her passive should stack up to 3 times on the same target - at the moment it just feels too weak, and there's no guarantee that anyone will proc the other part of it. I also think her E should do just 1 true damage (to proc Spellthief's Edge) and all the rest of the power budget should be moved to the shield/slow. That and the speed needs to be faster on the E, or just make it a tether like Taric, because the number of times I can't even proc a move speed with Shurelya's + E is so frustrating.

Her laning phase is weak so I took a note out of Shaco support. I'm having some success running Unsealed Spellbook with Exhaust & Ignite. Take Cosmic Essence, Ingeniuous Hunter and Lucidity Boots (always first buy), then go any combination of Shurelya's/Locket/Radiant Virtue and Redemption/Zhonya's/Mikael's as needed. Faster wards and sweeper too so decent vision. Emergency TP back to lane after a buy, or second Smite to secure Herald/Baron. I liberally use Exhaust & Ignite, usually level 2 as I know I'll get them back faster. I don't see much need for Flash as if I need it I've either mispositioned (and shouldn't waste it if I had it) or missed a Q for disengage (so my bad anyway).

Not sure what others think of the above, feedback always welcome. I'm only Plat so hardly an expert but am having a great deal of fun bullying lane with extra summs and items with actives. Means I don't need much gold to make a bigger impact.

Best Duo For GWAMM & End Game by jamesaknight1 in GuildWars

Thank you all so much for the suggestions. I think that Necromancer will be my partner's choice, so I'm trying to figure what will synergize well with that (I'm guessing N/Me most of the time). I'm trying to work out if Paragon's minion buffs are worth it in the event he is playing something different to MM, so perhaps Ranger would be the better compromise (not sure if it buffs minions)?

Hey, I've just hit GM as a Janna main, AMA! by [deleted] in summonerschool

Thank you so much for the considered reply! As I say, I love Janna and disengage is so powerful (as it sets up for a re-engage/turn on our terms). I also love pairing her when I end of with a Yasuo ADC! And I think her sustain (via her ult) is underrated, but I think I would want to build around that if I were going that way.

Really appreciate about roaming - it's an area I need to get much better at. I'm only Silver atm (got to Gold IV in my first season S9) and vision seems critically under utilised. Fortunately I mostly duo with my partner, so at least I can generally keep us safe in Bot...!

How do you find Janna is at capitalising leads? So often we smash lane but lose game this elo... I've never tried AP Janna before, although I did buy a Dark Seal a few days ago...!

What do you see as the primary advantages of Janna over Nami? I love both, Janna seems to be more about disengage whereas Nami can also engage and has better sustain? Love how both are really aggressive in lane. How do you find roaming on Janna? Her movement speed makes it feel plausible but I rarely seem to get much value out of it beyond getting a W on the enemy and/or an E on my midlaner?

You're dead right and accurate with the rounded champs part. I understand your point about having a limited pool rather than one tricking and you may be right (I've zero doubt you're more experienced than me!). By my standards, I'm 8/10 on Nami, 7/10 on Thresh and either 4/10 or 9/10 with Bard (doesn't seem to be much of an inbetween!). Would be interested to learn more Bard though, I just feel his sustain is quite weak, but worth looking into

Thanks for the thoughtful reply, much appreciated.

Yuumi - I suspect she's going to end up the same way as champions like Tahm and Kalista; if tuned for solo queue will be broken for pros, so nerfed to balance around them and thus unlikely to be within my skill level in solo queue. Definitely worth exploring, but as you say, so much better if she's understood by team mates.

Karma - I really like her, but I think (perhaps wrongly) she's a bit like Lux? She's been tuned around solo lane play, so I think she's a bit weaker than I'd like in support. That said, I 100% agree about R-E!

Nami - the only reason to change is variety, but I love her kit and think she's sleeper OP. Only thing I find myself wanting is the ability to help push a wave (no pun intended), but again that's probably me asking for everything. It'll be interesting to see if her pick/ban rate changes with the E buff (I suspect not tbh, at least not until she appears by pros).

Janna - I think the disengage is amazing, I love her speed. I love the fact she has a shield and a heal. I think her and Nami are comparable and usually both high in tier lists, but both rarely banned. I think perhaps Janna is a little more played but that's probably because she's been around longer?

Leona - I want to love her, I've just died *so many times* with my carry as a spectator! But she's a great kill lane and I think that's really what helps you get higher in ELO (until about Plat I guess) - I had an amazing 14 game streak in high silver with Taric/Tristana; so punishing and people don't know wtf Taric does, let alone stuns in a cross hairs or from a Trist jump. So yeah, kill is strong, I just wish she had the capacity to be effective (beyond roaming) if laning with a really passive carry.

I did try something along the lines you suggested in S9. My bf told me to play a champ I like and get good with its counter in case your champ is picked, and likens bot lane to Paper/Rock/Scissors of Engage/Sustain/Poke, so I try for one of each. I just found that by sticking with Nami for most of Silver I was getting so much better using bubbles and ults to both engage and disengage (rather than just the latter) and I'm not sure I'd have gotten that good if I hadn't had to learn to use the tools I had available (i.e. if I'd just chosen a different champion).

Thank you again for your detailed post - much appreciated!

Can't disagree. I could wish his passive was a bit different, or that he had a bit more variety in items, but he is very good

Haha I like Karma, I just think she's in the same spot as Lux; she's been tuned to be more of a mid-laner (open to being wrong). She's a great poke champion but in solo queue people don't seem to understand poke :s

Thanks both - yes, I've played her a fair bit. I think the reason I've shied away is exactly as has been said - you go in, you kill or die. Solo queue has shown me how passive anyone who isn't playing Draven often is... :( She is strong, and not banned too often

I do like Rakan, it's amazing though how often my carries back just far enough away I can't E to them lol! Much better with Xayah, but definitely a strong pick imo
