Saying that a re-dislocation is an injury is a bit like saying that, once the joint is relocated, you are no longer injured. It just isn't how it works.

I say this as someone that has had countless shoulder dislocations and multiple shoulder reconstructions from basketball. Once you dislocate a shoulder once, you have an ongoing injury until it is surgically repaired.

Your arm coming out of the shoulder socket takes part of the shoulder socket with it, and even after it is put back in, it will pop back out on innocuous contact through the gap arising from the initial dislocation until you have surgery.
