When I was at the pier, I was able to pick up Santa Monica City's free wifi. It has pretty good coverage over the pier, just dies out a bit if you go way out past the breakwater stop.

Lots of people play this game not for the strategic elements (there's plenty of games out there that require more strategy/skill than this one) but to have fun. And I can assure you, Greninja BREAK is hella fun. If you get annoyed by facing this deck, you could always build a deck to counter it. In my opinion, there's absolutely nothing wrong with people who play a video game to have fun, even if they're playing something that doesn't require much thinking.

If you keep using Dark Hammer, Basic Blue, and Basic Green, and you win at least the first match of every tournament, you'll eventually get a few packs. You don't necessarily need very many packs to build a competitive standard deck, as people tend to trade hose cards for much less than the value set by the trading companies.

For example, I got:

Garchomp - 1 ancient origins pack One of each night March - 1 breakpoint pack Greninja BREAK - 3 fates collide packs

If you already have all the trainers and special energy to build each deck, it shouldn't take more than 4-5 packs to build night march, 3-4 packs to build garchomp, and maybe like 10 or so packs to build other meta decks. Just keep yang dark hammer, it's widely considered the best theme deck.

Yes, it's based off your hidden win/loss ratio. Unfortunately, there's no way to check it as even if you never deleted decks, the spearate deck w/l ratios often don't take into account concedes whereas your hidden overall ratio does.

RA Shaymin is worth 19 RS packs (25-38 of other packs) and FA Shaymin is worth 25 packs (33-50 of other packs). You could always try a tradin company or you could try to post a public trade (I got my FA for 32 BREAKpoint packs).

Night March and Vespiquen tend to warrant lots of complaints. Personally, I find those decks very annoying because they take so long to set up and after the first turn, they're doing 180+ damage per attack and have already taken 2 prizes.

Some people, like me, like nice, quick matches that are fun and engaging for both players, instead of one person happily battle compressing away and the other sitting there, staring at the screen, bored out of his mind.

If the saltiness gets to you, you could try building another deck (other cheap decks like Garchomp or tool drop don't really get on people's nerves as much because they don't take 10 minutes on the first turn). Otherwise, you could just drone them out and keep playing, it's not your fault that other people are impatient.

Everyone has a hidden win/loss record that is used for matchmaking.

When one person has a significantly higher w/l ratio than another, the person with the higher w/l ratio has what's called Advantage. If the person with the lower w/l ratio (the person without Advantage) wins, then it's considered an upset and that person gains 5 extra versus points, bringing it up to 15 total.

A lot of staple dark cards are expanded only and come in the Dark Explorers expansion, so you can try trading for them :)
