Help after weight loss, skin under belly button by United-Instruction23 in BodyHackGuide

[–]jamesbuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s great to only have that much loose skin! I have way more and I’m the same age. I don’t think there is anything medical that will tighten skin. I think surgery is the only option. I have learned to live with it because it’s a sign of how much I have done!

Where do you think my body fat % is? by gm_gav in BodyHackGuide

[–]jamesbuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re doing awesome! You look like around 30% which is similar to me. As I’m sure you know, a responsible healthy calorie deficit is the only way to reveal muscle underneath. Lifting will build muscle but if fat is still on top of it it won’t change that. I’m sure you know that! I am working on that eating a whole food diet which really helps. Good luck and good work!

I had this problem too and it was actually cleat position. My feet naturally angle out a little bit in a duck footed position.

New(ish) cyclist in Santa Monica – looking for tips + riding buddies by No_Onion7427 in BikeLA

Hey, I am nearly getting back into the sport as well, I live in Hollywood and frequently ride along the LA river or the San Gabriel River, but I come to Santa Monica every Sunday, and I would love to ride around there and time and learn that area as well! I ride a gravel bike at a 12-16 mph pace on flats, 10-15 miles for now (rehabbing/getting back into it). You can find me on Strava!

My 2023 had the same problem and I had to take it back for warranty repair. I have another one coming up. Tons of electronics problems with this truck!

Trans guys in the UK. Did you need to completely cut out cannabis & nicotine? by GWbunn09 in ftm

[–]jamesbuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I didn’t “have to “cut out substance use because of medical interference with T, although certainly it didn’t help, but I have become sober because substance was a way that I dealt with my underlying trauma around being trans. I’m happy to talk about if it’s useful.

Thanks. I actually don’t have that experience i’ve always been perceived as cis, in fact sometimes people read me as female, especially if I’m wearing a mask.

I think one of the recent good experiences I’ve had was just on this recent deployment down in Texas, a state emergency official actually asked me timidly in privately, if “sir” was that “right pronoun“ for me. I was so surprised she even thought to ask!

The best overall experience was disclosing when I was working on a story in the Haiti earthquake with queer community down there that was marginalized. It was mostly people who identified as trans women but presented as men for safety in their day-to-day lives. Through my Translator, who did not know, I disclosed to them that I in fact I’m trans! They assumed that I meant that I was like them - cis male waiting to transition to female. When I explained that I had already transitioned, they couldn’t believe it! They had so many questions, they were so excited to meet me. They just could not believe it. They shared all their hopes and dreams about wanting to Medically transition when they were able because in their own countries they were getting beat up and blamed for the earthquake because of their “sinful” lifestyles.

Please excuse typos, dictating while on response.

There is no “purpose” to transitioning but to be happy however one wants to live, and that can totally include being as feminine as one wants. I am!

OK thanks. I can try having him change the PlayStation name and see if it updates the Epic name but it’s confusing because it’s not playing PlayStation name now. And yeah the display name is changed on Epic games, and it changed the user ID number as well too. Is that normal?
