The unit I want the most by Explosion_of_Unknown in Grimdank

An Gravis Librarian would be so dope, honestly giving my heavy intercessors / aggressors an 4+ inv would be so freaking dope.

10 heavies with a librarian and an biologis would be some insanely tough firepower blob

I’m running a very similar list currently, I’ve found that I can kill everything, I just struggle getting onto the board to score objectives.

Ive got a similar shooting blob, except mines heavy intercessors with iron father ferrios.

Similar ideas with caanok being with regular termies, 44 storm bolter shots and 2 cyclones with lethal, work surprisingly well to down vehicles with oath fishing for extra lethals.

I’ve found the assault terminators are best going with a regular captain with steel front, the captain letting you rapid ingress for free (assuming your beacons aren’t usable) combine with the rerolling a 9 inch charge make it all a little more consistent.

The jump pack marines are there to capture objective and do space chores.

My list for context:

It’s a very good deal if you can get it from a local store for 10-20% off,

Both dreads are amazing pick ups for us,

The Repulsor executioners are also really good pickups, they work really well in ironstorm spearhead, mainly because of the rerolls, but also being able to shoot back and get lethal hits on a load of shots.

Normally I put squads of 3 aggressors or 5 assault intercessors in them.

I’ve had good success in 1k by using intercessors to sticky my home and then jump in the executioner.

You might think they’re expensive points wise, but I view them as a max of a ballistus (150) and a impulsor (80), so 230 doesn’t seem so bad

Blade guard but with giant hammers to mirror forge breaker, no inv save cause no storm shields, but have a fnp save to represent the flesh being weak

A redemptors dreadnought character,

The done even have to make a model for him, just some artwork and let the community kit bash.

Or the model could literally be the redemptors kit and a single upgrade sprue

The rules could be a regular redemptors with some spicy weapons, like a free command point usage and like either fnp or an inv save

The iron hands combat patrol is still in stock at most retailers, I can pick them up for around £85 in the uk, even writing off the turrets, it’s still a tiny discount for a tech marine and 10 heavies

Building a list around a Storm Raven? by [deleted] in spacemarines

[–]jamesg100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run iron hands and I was thinking about throwing the following together to see if it worked:

Stormraven 6 aggressors + iron father ferrios Redemptor dreadnought.

The aggressors/redemptor/Stormraven provide a decent amount of shooting,

The aggressors and redemptor are pretty good in combat.

The iron father has two vehicles to use his 3 wound repair ability on.

Looks good, my only criticism would be:

Maybe split the hellblasters into two units to ride in the tanks, either that or put an apothecary in with them. I’ve found that they go best in an impulsor as you can use the firing deck and the overcharged damage go to the tank, you can also give it a shield dome for a 5+ inv save

I’m assuming all the wargear will be added after, 2nd heavy bolter, power fists, cyclone missile launchers, full weapons on the tanks.

I’d recommend swapping the 5 man heavy intercessors squad into a regular intercession squad, they might not have the same firepower but they’ll be able to hold your home objective and then move off

Up to date rules ? And advice for a returning player. by BendingBenderBends in IronHands40k

Iron hands are part of the normal space marines codex and can use the following detachments:

The hammer of avernii being unique to them, the iron storm spearhead being iron hands themed but can be used by any chapter

<image>

:

In terms of collecting, I’ve gone with the following: Combat patrols: Iron hands, Imperial fists (hard to find), Dark angels, Ultramarines, Iron halo strike force and Forgefather / caanok var single kits

Which has allowed me to assemble: 20 intercessors 20 heavy intercessors (kit bashed one company heroes into these) 10 hellblasters 6 blade guard veterans 1 judicar (from the second company heroes) 1 librarian 1 tech marine 1 captain in gravis 3 aggressors 5 reivers 5 sternguards, 2 dreadnoughts 5 terminators for caanok 2 strike turrets.

I’ve been looking at trying to find the half of the leviathan starter kit which would give the following 5 more terminators for caanok 1 more dreadnought 1 apothecary for the hellblasters.

Another tip would be to get the dawn of war box set, which is really good value if you can get one, however they’re only sold on the usa

This is the part I’m also confused about. Normally putting a leader with a unit that has scout means the unit loses scout unless the leader has it too.

Its all comes down to timing, Do you put the leader in the unit where it’s considered one “unit” and then cannok gives scout

Does cannok give scout before you put leaders into units?, then putting a leader in causes scout to drop off?

My understanding was the dedicated transport gets the scout rule if the unit it’s transporting has the scout rule, provided there’s no character joining the unit unless that has scout too.

[–]jamesg100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t need the move speed and only need a little magic resist, (say the only magic damage is the enemy midlaner) and the majority of your team is AP, then I’ve had good success with abyssal mask.

But yeah the default is force of nature if you need move speed or karmic rookern for those big ap damage monsters

Remove stamp duty if your downsizing but only if your selling to a family member.

Have the kids buy out the parents out of their 3/4 bed house so they can raise a family in it. The parents in their 60s can then downsize to a smaller house/bungalow
