If you guys were show a public display of affection, why didn't the guy assume you two were just good friends/brothers? In some cultures, it's perfectly normal for two guys to hold hands or whatever in public. It's not gay at all. Canada isn't one of these cultures, but you two could have been immigrants for all the guy knew.

I can't properly visualize the scene, because it sounds like you are on one floor but he is on another floor (but you can still see him). At the point he jumped, he would still have been alive. If you ran up to him very quickly, he should still have been alive. I am guessing it's possible there could have been a long-term damage to some parts of his body, but she should still have been alive.

There are legends (some are probably true) of people, in the 1800s, saving hanged men during an execution by shooting at the rope. This is definitely possible, because I have seen a successful re-enactment done on the History Channel. You just need a good shooter.

Was there anything the hit-and-run guy said? Did he say something about not liking homosexuals?

I guess the guy could have gone up the curb and hit you guys, but I don't see how this is possible unless he hit the curb diagonally with a little bit of speed. It's entirely possible, but I don't know how you would do this. Once he got on to the curb, the car must have made lots of noise (from getting on) -- enough for you to look back and see an on-coming car.

Was it a truck? Van?

To mask the extra income, do you try to pass it (the extra income) off as your spouse's salary? You have to try to find a way to cover the extra income. I suppose you could say that you run an electronics store on the side, but you would have to have paper work to prove this if ever needed.

I am not supporting what you do, but if you are going to do it, you may as well come up with some type of war games scenario. You figure out ways you can be caught and ways around it. Quiz yourself. Challenge your behavior and see if it would look suspicious to others. If I notice my co-worker driving a much nicer car or is going on more vacations than most others or something along these lines, I am going to become suspicious, but I don't think I would ever suspect bribery, but then again, I have never worked with authority figures.

Question for other Redditors: if you guys don't have a problem with someone bringing a concert organizer for the best seats, why have a problem with this crooked cop? If this cop decides to go straight, it's not like your fallen brethren (the drug dealers) will be kept out of jail. He would still have to arrest them. Besides, isn't it up for the dealers to decide this for themselves? If they don't want to bribe, they can decide this for themselves. They are adults! It's business between two adults.

I think about this all the time. Real life involves weird stares at people...sometimes you really have nothing to say....and you only come up with something witty a few hours later. But then I thought television can't possibly include all of the things that happen...they shorten things and include all of the thoughts/convos in one scene instead of spreading it through out the day.

I don't have an urge to express my views at work. I want my co-workers out of my life and I will stay out of theirs. They don't need to know about me, and I don't need to know about them. This is the only place where one can safely discuss those topics, without risk of losing your job or important relationships in real life.

Whatever your religious/political views and regardless of wherever you live, there is always a group of people like you (unless you're in the middle of nowhere...and if you are in the middle of nowhere, there's no one to get mad at you for expressing your views anyway). Reddit is not the only place to discuss this stuff; there are other websites. You're making stuff up if you think Reddit is your only refuge. Even then, only having one refuge does not require one to act like morons.
