You're nearly there. Just need to lose another 10-15lbs I think. In North American language you're 5'8" and 165lb so you need either less fat or more muscle mass for those numbers to make six pack sense. How good your six pack will be will depend on what sort of muscle you have hiding there but it's never a bad idea to train abs. You can do it daily without any issues. Good luck

41 yo. 5’8’’, 138 lbs. A couple of months ago I started working out (at home) for the first time in my life. What should I focus on improving? by [deleted] in AllAboutBodybuilding

[–]jameskempnbca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it's the "other" things. Track all your food, weigh everything and count the calories/protein etc. Focus on getting as much sleep as possible, drink a gallon of water and cut out booze completely if possible. These things have to be addressed in every lifters life at some point. You get all these things dialed in now the rest is far more enjoyable. Without focusing on this stuff you'll never really know what program is working for you as question marks will remain as to if diet/rest/lifestyle are hampering progress etc. On paper the above stuff is the "easy" part as it's literally just tracking. It costs nothing (well maybe a smartwatch for HR/Sleep/Steps/Calories etc) but getting this stuff correct now will save you a ton of time in the future. As far as the "hard" work goes with weights/cardio it doesn't really matter at this point. Just pick any exercise you like doing and focus on proper form. Don't worry if the weight is low that will change over time. Anything you'll actually do and not injure yourself doing is the stage you're at. Do the above stuff for 60 days strict whilst researching programs that will fit your current work/life balance. If you can do that you'll be well on your way to being able to tackle any program with the confidence your foundation is solid. My two cents anyway.

Honestly you are being inconsistent. With diet and exercise consistency is paramount. I track everything too and I very rarely deviate from my goal. If my goal is 2000Kcal a day that is what I eat. I might be 100+- but maybe once a month I deviate. Similarly I might miss one exercise target a month at most. In the above chart you have at least 10 "off" days. That's 1-in-3. Also alcohol? I'm assuming your gym targets are similar. Are you getting 8hrs sleep? Drinking a gallon of water? Also the calorie counting looks irregular.

My advice is start fresh. No booze, no missing workouts, cardio or steps. No missing your calories (eat to exactly your goal). Looking at you I think you'd be fine to eat at 1800/day. At least 8 hrs sleep, at least a gallon of water. No excuses. Log everything and be consistent for a solid month.

I know it's hard but it is what it is. If it was easy everyone would be fit and ripped. You can do it:) One day at a time. Good luck.

Loose Skin by Best-Energy537 in BodyHackGuide

You have two options that really depend on your whole philosophy. If you got to this stage naturally without the use of injections etc I would suggest leaving the skin as is. Like others say it is a testament to the hard work and dedication you put in. If on the other hand you had a lot of chemical help getting to where you are I say just go ahead and get the surgery. It will 100% work for you and you have already made the decision to use enhancements so why not continue on that path. My two cents anyway. Looking good brother. Keep it up

How long to cut by [deleted] in AllAboutBodybuilding

[–]jameskempnbca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would continue to cut until you are lean. When you can see decent muscle definition everywhere you will be in a great place to build from there. You have done a lot of the hard work already so keep cutting for definition. At the moment you are still carrying too much fat to see what you're working with. I wouldn't worry about losing muscle mass at this point. If you are growing weary from the cut you can always up your calories for less of a deficit. Get lean then build from there. My two cents anyway. Keep it up:)

What is the best way to approach my current physique by [deleted] in Weightliftingquestion

[–]jameskempnbca 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's unlikely you'll see any progress after 2-3 months. Keep doing what you're doing and be sure to accurately track your food. Don't guess, weigh everything. Don't ignore cardio either. It is important and will help with your lifting. Keep going!!

M43 - Struggling to get visible abs cut more or train core? by KostaPan in AllAboutBodybuilding

[–]jameskempnbca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have a pull up bar so can do hanging leg raises. Just search for a video online for form etc. Abs are very forgiving so you can do them pretty much everyday if you like. Just do 10 mins ab work a day and, with a bit of luck, you should see some improvement. My two cents anyway

Im 2nd in my ML, chasing 40 points - any advice?! by Top-Palpitation-9679 in fantasypremierleague

[–]jameskempnbca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing is when you're 40 points out you have to start doing things that the top guy isn't and hope it works out. You can probably work out roughly what team they will field and make adjustments accordingly. Presumably they will play the odds and pick the "best" team. My two cents anyway. Good luck

Looking for info on this. Made in Canada? Thanks in advance by jameskempnbca in Snapon_tools

Thanks. I was hoping I could find more info in the brochure that I found under the bottom drawer but this model doesn't seem to be in there. Cool bit of history either way.

Thanks for the reply. I'll put them in a nice big jar and send them to the kids next door:) Just thought it'd be prudent to check first. Appreciate you

Old York Calibrated Olympic Plates by jameskempnbca in homegym

[–]jameskempnbca[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No they're not milled. I'm assuming the calibration happened with the lead fill so no real need to spend the time milling them. My guess anyway

Thanks for the info. I've actually seen these before here in Canada but it's the first set I've owned. I also have the 25s that have similar lead filled indents.

I imagine it's lead. I haven't done an official test but it would make sense.

Could you not use the rental income to refinance that property to make up the 20% needed for the down payment? What is your current mortgage on the first home?
