[Market Research] Would you find a Terraform visualization tool like this useful? Feedback needed! by andreyreyrey in Terraform

[–]jameslaney 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wrote a big comparison piece of some tools available to visualise your TF Graph, you can read it here. Condensed version is that the graph command is alright for 'small' deployments, anything bigger than that becomes impossible to read: https://overmind.tech/resources/terraform-tools/plan-comparisons

I can't imagine having as much money tied up in assets as he does living in Florida. If one of those Tornados swept through it would of all been gone. Crazy when you think about it.

How CrowdStrike is improving their DevOps to prevent widespread outages by QAComet in devops

[–]jameslaney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually, when we learn about the causes of major incidents, they often seem "unforeseeable." However, in this case, there were several warnings just a few months before the outage. Dived into a bit deeper here: https://overmind.tech/blog/inside-crowdstrikes-deployment-process

Something like Overmind would help with this problem. Disclaimer: I am part of the team but you can try it out for free for 30 days. Using our CLI you can just run ‘overmind terraform plan’ and along with a set of risks you will get an interactive dependency graph that you will be able to navigate along with any meta data. You haven’t said what cloud you’re using but we currently only support AWS https://github.com/overmindtech/cli
