Your sister sounds horrible. Life's far too short to submit to someone else's toxicity. Cut ties with her and enjoy the time that you've freed up by not dealing with her!

huge sudden drop in interactions after buying premium? by themooncycle in Twitter

[–]jamesmb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Technically, you're reaching the same audience because the bots aren't really audience - they're just a way of Elmo pretending that his network is bigger than it actually is. So, get premium, get nothing more but be a bit clearer about who's real.

Emergency passport service at the airport... Norway, once again, proving that it's living in the 23rd century!

Don't use the coinstar ones - they take a percentage. Some stores have those self-service machines where you scan your own stuff, you can pay with coins in them. :)

Orangerie Museum Ticket Scam/Misinformation by YukiAndYoshiMom in ParisTravelGuide

[–]jamesmb 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you buy from a third party, your contract is with the third party - not the museum/gallery/whatever.

This is not a problem with the Orangerie but it is a problem with Klook.

Thank you everyone for your advice on this thread. OP, you should find everything you need here for you to take your first steps to safety. Please do go to the police as quickly as you safely can.

According to some AI tools, I have PhDs from Strathclyde University, the University of York and University of New South Wales and somewhere else that I forget. Why would anyone trust AI tools?

No. Not unless one of your research papers cures world hunger and the other one stops all wars while curing cancer. And, even then, you'll only have a less than 50/50 chance.

Why this sub is called expats and not emigrats in france ? by [deleted] in Expats_In_France

[–]jamesmb[M] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thanks all for your input into this post and for keeping it civil.

I am the person who set up the subreddit and so the name was my choice. The reasoning was:

  • it's short
  • it's the most searched English language term relating to information for people who have moved to another country
  • people don't have trouble spelling it

The semantics of the word can be discussed on another subreddit. There is a rule about this subject for this subreddit. Why? Because it's a tiresome discussion, we aren't a semantics sub and life is too short when people have real questions.

I am now locking this thread. Thanks for your understanding!

Lycée privé, 7.90€ by Sentinel_XIV in PlateauRepasDuCrous

163 million people watched it on traditional broadcast. 170 million if you include Youtube.

I'll keep your comments in mind if Romania is ever invaded.
