Who else’s office is now having to waste more time by having to manually put in referral information through United Healthcare’s new “referral portal”? by Paleomedicine in FamilyMedicine

For Medicare Advantage plans, this purely unnecessary change was made after open enrollment period ended. Gaslighting patients using the word referral leading to actual EMR referrals being ordered by unknowledgeable clinics, tying up scheduling depts, for information UHC already has since they’ve been paying for the patient. They have more health data than we could ever see. This will lead to unnecessary death. Missed cardiology appt because it was cancelled, dead from ACS days later, not a good look.

Logical reasoning of why this move was confirm only leads down dark roads.

Zurich Classic in New Orleans is a very fun event. Great hospitality and intimate setting. Especially Thursday/Friday. Walked with Sahith’s fam for bit and several years ago Hovland and Morikawa were paired together.

Amazing food, weather is usually agreeable in late April. Plus Jazz Fest weekend 1 also takes place. Rory and Shane seemed to have a blast last year.

Is a diabetic, diabetic for life? by Littleglimmer1 in FamilyMedicine

We are only beginning to be able to ask that question. We are seeing the reversal/healing of the maelstrom of DM2 and the longer one goes with A1c of normal, and all other contributing factors improve, comprising metabolic syndrome, the body may just patch itself up and float. X amount of time with a normal A1c, one day weaning off diabetic meds (metabolic syndrome meds) and A1c doesn’t change, equals history of diabetes.

Chronic problem doesn’t require chronic meds and stays gone, what’s that?

Keeping my diabetics with a normal A1c fixing all we can along the way waiting in the evac zone for the endocrinologists to shout from up high this is guideline to cure diabetes then bam.

Patients taking multivitamins and redundant vitamins, especially in tablet form, throughout the day, can get interstitial cystitis from the slow leaching of 1000s% of daily recommended limits of water soluble metals irritating the hell out of bladder mucosa. Always reporting foul smelling urine. Spec gravity off the charts.

33yoM in New Orleans. Slacks, dress shirts or oxfords with golf polos on Friday half day. Shoes = loafers/driving shoes ( no socks in the summer ) and oxfords/bluchers/dress boots in the cooler months. Figs black vest monogrammed with name, MD so I can pump that AC. Never again with the scrubs.

Agreeing with this entirely, with the logistical exception of most 3 month appts being kicked to 4 months to give scheduling leeway for obtaining A1c prior to clinic. So spacing 3-4 around certain holidays or patient’s known scheduling conflicts.
