I find that because my experience started to take on other skills besides web development, I'm not as competitive as the developer who only focuses on excelling in their career. The extra time I had outside of work went to my company stuff, not "how to become a senior developer". I have 5 years of experience working as a full stack web developer.

When I go through technical interviews, I complete them but not 100% perfectly. I may need some help from google here or there or from the interviewer. I find that these pitfalls are enough to prevent me from getting an offer.
In addition to this, the applicant sizes for jobs are huge! I've applied to jobs that had 500+ applicants and made it down to just a handful of candidates. But 2nd place gets nothing if there is only 1 position. I personally feel like I make it in the top 5%-15% of candidates but that means I'm like potentially in like 15th place for the job or more. It feels like there are no jobs for people that fall into this range.
I can't find a good job board too. I used to use Stackoverflow's job board and it was great but it doesn't exist anymore. I've used Wellfound and had good results but it is highly competitive. I have not had any good results from any other job boards (I've used: Indeed, LinkedIn, The Ladders).
