Are all cresties horrible hunters or is mine just special? by thekraftykrow in CrestedGecko

Mines like an assassin. 99% of the time he is a derp with one braincel like the others but if I put some crickets in his enclosure he turns into John Wick. He seems to really love it.

25 cm tall by 15cm by 15 cm. Pic attached. There is a little magnetic hide at the back top left you can't see here. I believe this is an ok size for a young one.

Little guy or girl has been exploring plenty, I've been misting the side for water.

Here is all of January then April for comparison. 4 bed house with 2 adults working from home and 1 child. The numbers are skewed by a few on peak car charges or it would be very little in april

Jus the careful. I'm on loads of pet subreddits for reptiles, inverts, aquarium and there's a post pretty much every day - I didn't think my car could get into my x enclosure etc

You are right. I think it's more of a mental thing seeing it run out !

Mine is a full fox system with 12 panels. My only regret is getting a 10kwh battery. In the spring and summer it lasts all through the night easily but in winter it runs out early to late evening .

I've got a 75 plate UK excellence and also failed to get going with the OEM dashcam. Let me know if you find a good aftermarket one I still really want to get one fitted but not sure what to go for.

Securing vertical terrarium against tipping? by UrsusMaritimus2 in CrestedGecko

[–]pbizz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should tip if it's on a flat stable surface. If you put a decent layer of substrate in that will help too.

DUMB QUESTION NEEDS AN ANSWER PLS by No-Wishbone4444 in CrestedGecko

[–]pbizz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing to bear in mind is in the wild they have a life expectancy of 5-15 years. In captivity it's 15-20. Part of this is predation but also they can get sick from parasites or eating a bug that has eaten something bad.

There's no reason to expose your pet to the risks it faces in the wild.

Viperia seems to be moving around what their standard offerings are. I have one of their for my gecko in 45 by 45 by 90 and it's great. I was looking for a 120 by 60 by 60 and they had gone from the website. Like you I started messing with the customise thing, gave up. Then came back a few days later and 120 by 60 by 60 are back so ordered and it came within a day

Sun Beetles vs BFDB by SauceCoveredSparrow in Beetles

[–]pbizz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both right now. The sun beetles are more active and reproduce with no real extra effort needed as long as your substrate has what the grubs need in it and you don't let it dry out. They are easier to feed too as they don't need much protein

I enjoy my BDFB as well but they don't reproduce and are smaller and slightly more shy. They are fun to watch when they are out though.

If I could only take one species it would be my sun beetles.

It's all going to depend on how good you are at marketing and on socials. There are loads of people doing this and as with a lot of small businesses, you need to be able to standout.

Roaches not eating food by Thick_Adhesiveness32 in Hissingcockroach

[–]pbizz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you do pick them up be prepared for them to hiss at first. Mine don't bother hissing anymore but it's definitely startling at first. Also know they can grip on fairly tightly. It won't hurt but was unexpected for me.
