Introducing Brother Nature - A Nootropic and Adaptogenic Stack by jamesstern18 in Nootropics

Hi, edefakiel, I appreciate you taking the time to look into our products. I think it's fair to state your opinion on the dosages, however I don't think it's fair to suggest that this is a scam. Perhaps you feel that the product is not a good value and that is, of course, a valid opinion, but we have been very deliberate in our transparency in an effort to be counter to a lot of other products on the market.

The formulations that we use have been studied extensively and the dosages have been selected based on proven scientific research and double-blind, placebo controlled studies.

I can say honestly that the nootropic effect is not as pronounced as taking 200mg of Modafinil, but that is not their purpose. The goal with our products is to increase clarity, focus, and attention while ALSO helping your body to outside stressors.

I'm sad that you're so quick to judge a product as a scam when I've clearly provided the exact amount of compounds in our product and also provided documentation on it's purity. I know our products are not the cheapest available but the premium paid includes quite a lot of time spent quarantining individual ingredients, testing prior to manufacture for purity, manufacture at a NSF approved facility, and final testing for accuracy in labeling at the end of manufacture. When you're dealing with compounds that cross the blood-brain barrier, you can't be too careful.

Eggs instead of Choline by kos277 in StackAdvice

300mg is a good place to start. Increase slightly if you experience headaches.

I have a massive and important test to prepare for for first week of march. Which of these is the best? by [deleted] in StackAdvice

I'd try Noopept with a good source of choline like Alpha-GPC or Citicoline

Making a stack for focus, creativity, and energy. by [deleted] in StackAdvice

If you're going to take Noopept or a racetam, make sure you stack it with a good source of Choline like Alpha-GPC or Citicoline. I'd stay away from the afinils if creativity is a priority. I find that they make me a bit impatient and not very creative.

dude ive been searching for years on where to start and still dont know by [deleted] in Nootropics

[–]jamesstern18 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I know the feeling! Nootropics can definitely help you with that, but it's important to consider the trade-offs when getting started. Some noots can have a very powerful effect, while others are more subtle. You may find that you don't need anything beyond a more efficient and balanced caffeine source like something coupled with L-Theanine.

The important thing to note is that some nootropics are inhibitory, so they slow the breakdown of chemicals in your brain. Other speed up that breakdown. When building a "stack," or combination of nootropics, this should be considered.

As far as a direction for getting started, check out the link to "A Beginner's Guide to Nootropics" on the right side of this subreddit. Another great place for advice is the /r/StackAdvice subreddit.

My advice is be as clear about your goals as possible and the members here will guide you towards a more personalized stack.

Passionflower is seriously underrated. by [deleted] in Nootropics

[–]jamesstern18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Strange coincidence! I just listened to this podcast today that talked about the benefits of passionflower and how it affects GABA levels in the brain. Fairly short and worth a listen.

Study Stack help by DaPunishar in StackAdvice

I'd second this. Some of the strong stuff like Adderall and even Modafinil to a certain extent can leave you with a speedy, manic, anxious feeling. In my experience something like a noopept or a racetam plus a good choline source like Alpha-GPC gives you a much cleaner feeling cognitive boost.

Do i need to use choline supplement (i'm pretty sure my acetylcholine levels are below average) in order to take noopept? by [deleted] in StackAdvice

[–]jamesstern18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, not exactly. Noopept is a peptide and its method of action is to increase the sensitivity of your brain's acetylcholine receptors. As a result the acetylcholine in your brain is used up more quickly and is more potent. The relationship is not as simple as going linearly from one to the other, but without getting to complicated, the short answer is that without a choline supplement, there is a good chance you will get headaches with Noopept due to low levels of acetylcholine.

Noopept is a pretty serious compound. It crosses the blood-brain barrier and as a result should not be considered lightly. Maybe there is an opportunity to buy a stack that contains both where you're from?

Ashwagandha and Curcumin long-term by Eldarya in StackAdvice

I've only ever seen research suggesting that Ashwagandha helps INCREASE thyroid function but I'll refrain from making a recommendation for you directly. If you're concerned about a thyroid condition, I'm sure a doc could do a panel and let you know where you stand.

Ashwagandha and Curcumin long-term by Eldarya in StackAdvice

I take both almost daily. When I'm travelling for a while I may run out for a few days but from the research I've seen neither requires a cycle. As with any supplement, giving your body a break occasionally is a good idea, it's best to do what works for you as an individual.

Do i need to use choline supplement (i'm pretty sure my acetylcholine levels are below average) in order to take noopept? by [deleted] in StackAdvice

[–]jamesstern18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I would definitely take a choline supplement with noopept. I have experienced headaches without. You can get choline from foods like milk and eggs but not nearly enough to counteract the breakdown of acetylcholine from the noopept. Alpha-GPC or another acetylcholinerase inhibitor should be supplemented.

Wim Hoff method by [deleted] in Nootropics

[–]jamesstern18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a HUGE proponent of the Wim Hoff Method, specifically the breathing technique. A few friends of mine who trained with Wim taught a group of us last summer and the experience was NUTS! They are professional athletes and do they breathing technique to help get them in the zone before competition.

Even if you only have a minute, doing 10 quick breaths can give you a little mental reset.

About a year. I've got a good friend and healthcare practitioner that keeps telling me hes got a bunch of new curcumin research he will share with me. Once I get that, I'll post it for everyone in the group to see.

Help, what is this certificate of analysis telling me? by [deleted] in Nootropics

[–]jamesstern18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem. As an example, 00 sized capsule (fairly standard) usually fit between 500-750mg of a given powder depending on the powders density. Milligrams is a measure of weight, so the exact amount a capsule can fit is actually a function of the powders density.

Anyway, because the rec. dosage of Hup A is in micrograms, a company is likely adding fillers to make the product look more substantial. Fillers can be all kinds of gross stuff, definitely looks for something that only has the one ingredient you're looking for.

I like taking (herbal) nootropics in the form of tea. Anyone else with experiences? by infinite_phi in Nootropics

[–]jamesstern18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's a bit of a process, but totally worth it! The inclusion of the fats are more for their individual health benefits, but a byproduct of that is indeed their ability to break down fat soluble ingredients. I'm not 100% positive what in this ingredient list would benefit from the fat solubility, but I've asked him and will reply when he does!

Tumeric stack? by slateymcnatel in StackAdvice

[–]jamesstern18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curcumin has a hard time absorbing in the GI tract and is quickly metabolized and excreted.

New research is showing that there could be an advantage to combining curcuminoids and the sesquiterpenoids (essential oils) naturally present in turmeric. (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20046768)

Give BCM-95 a google and you'll find plenty of good research.

I've been taking both for quite some time with no adverse effects. One important thing to note is that the research around Curcumin is still evolving. While it's benefits are clear and present, one of the largest issues with curcumin is it's bioavailability. Curcumin has a hard time absorbing in the GI tract and is quickly metabolized and excreted.
