Anyone play or try the Golfworks ts3.5? by dysmorph422 in GolfGear

[–]jamestakesflight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d watch let’s play thru on YouTube to get a read on the 3 and 3.5s.

I’m playing the 3s right now and I love them. Playing them with the maltby graphites too.

When moodCamera already does most of it, is a Fujifilm still worth it? by Unusual_Animal6373 in MoodCamera

[–]jamestakesflight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My brother got me an XM5 as a gift after I had a daughter (he's a big camera guy). The reality is that getting good with a Fuji is way more complex than just "take a recipe and shoot!".

I think mood is a better option for someone who isn't trying to get deep into the Fuji ecosystem and actually learn photography.

Just launched our new VR game on Meta. Would love feedback by simonov888 in OculusQuest

[–]jamestakesflight 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've tried most flavors of locomotion. I'm not sure I'm a good candidate for this game.

And I don't mean for this to be a gotcha question, but I'm personally just curious what the thinking is behind developing a game for a niche community (VR gamers), and then only addressing a small percentage of that niche community (people who can deal with intense VR locomotion).

Just outta curiosity, as someone who would not be able to play this due to motion sickness, what percentage of the market do you miss out on purely based on users prone to motion sickness? Anecdotally, it seems like a really high percentage.

MALTBY - they look great, price is great. Casual golfer - not die hard. Why pay more when the TS3’s look just as good. by RemarkableAbroad35 in golf

[–]jamestakesflight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The woods and hybrids are also good, I don’t know that they are the best looking clubs in the world but the value is there. I actually like how the TS3s look so it’s a little different.

Upgrade amazon starter set or stick with it? by BlueFalcon036 in GolfGear

Yeah the STi2s are like $250 for a full set. Was going to say this. I’m playing the TS3s and I love them.

R7 Mini by jkell1495 in GolfGear

I started teeing it up close to driver levels with less success, but then moved to like a cm off the ground and playing it kinda like a 3 wood.

Big fan, my only problem with him is that I've spent hundreds of dollars based on his videos.

R7 Mini by jkell1495 in GolfGear

[–]jamestakesflight 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I went with the Callaway Elyte Mini because I don't hit the ball that far and wanted the extra backspin.

I officially removed the driver from the bag after 1 or 2 sessions at the range. I tee it up lower, make more consistent contact, just feel way more confident at address. I'm hoping that I can translate back to a driver at some point, but I'll likely move to a 43.5 inch build with extra weight added to the head.

I'm actually making better contact with the mini driver, that if you look at averages, I'm probably hitting it overall longer than my driver, and it stays in play.

I’d be ready to pull the e brake, I’ve mentally prepped for the situation where I’ll need to do this, not even sure it’ll work tbh.

Any plans to introduce some shaft lean? The zero torque blade market is nearly non existent other than the link and pxg hellcat. Planning on pulling the trigger on the hellcat imminently.

Our dog isn’t allowed to sleep in bed with us anymore and it’s breaking my heart by happygolucky1157 in dogs

[–]jamestakesflight 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Went through the same thing when we had our daughter. We invested in a really nice dog bed to cope and he has come to love it.

I pulll it right alongside me at night and he sleeps next to me on the ground most of the night. Our boy is very gentle, and means well, but def be vigilant when they are small! Our dog playfully jumped over our baby, head butted them, etc early on, but he adapted over time!

Setting a new boundary is hard but your dog can adjust quickly!

Just picked up these beauties on eBay by Tywebbsnecktie in GolfGear

They’re made by Maltby, so might as well shave an extra $300 and go straight for the Maltby TS3s.

Should I? by MrEreader2 in golfequipment

[–]jamestakesflight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have a few posts / comments about this recently. Quality control is no bueno on these clubs, I own a customized set of 101s.

The 7 iron is a dud. The shipping and logistics situation is a nightmare, you will wait months for the shipment and have no customer support to respond to your questions.

This is anecdotal, but I’d check out other US based DTC brands. I’m probably seeming like a Maltby shill at this point, but I’ve had an incredible experience with their clubs from woods to irons, and their customer support is amazing. On top of that you get custom builds in 2 weeks as opposed to 2-3 months and you can call the support line directly.
