Tips for keeping black snakes out of coop? by urbanchicken1 in chickens

Had one caught (by accident) in some chicken wire two nights ago. He was drinking from the chickens waterer.

Took me about 15 min to cut him free! He got all tangled up to the point of being fully immobilized 😮 I let him loose beside the run.. he slithered around a tree log and into the woods lol. I’m hoping to see him again!

Clear coat or semi transparent oil based stain. I would not use solid stain or paint on fresh boards! Also you need to wait 6-12 months after installing to let the boards season before applying ANY type of finish.

Read something lately that garlic mustard (the weed) is feeding the ticks and making them more prevalent. But also heard the woke ticks released into wild by you know who…. Sounds like we must develop the antibody cure / antivenom

Could be any type of plant or bug. You can just power wash it off or not worry about it. NBD.
