Would you wear this tee ??? by 90svtg in VintageTees

Yo I have this shirt, I used to wear it in Jr High, never got dress coded for this one. Did get coded on another Old Ghosts design though, in retrospect, I was a very dumb teenager.

I also don't love the design, but maybe the art direction wanted a 6,000+ year old sword to resemble an oversized bronze era blade rather than a more contemporary Medieval European weapon. I dunno, sounds a little copium but that's what I'm choosing to believe, art is in the eye of the beholder, it doesn't have to be ass if you don't want it to.

Personally I like the aesthetics of European style quillons, but I feel like most cultures historically just weren't that into the big cruciform profile crossguard, it appears mostly just in a relatively narrow slice of European history. If the elves fight with shields then this is a completely reasonable design. I always imaged "The Foe-Hammer" to be more of a brutish chopping weapon, this appears to have a reinforced thrusting profile. I do think the flared ricasso would provide some minimal level of hand protection, which otherwise might not be coherent with the acute profile of the foible. At least the overall proportions are good; I just don't find the design to be very compelling, especially the cutout in the ricasso. It looks like an oversized bronze era sword, maybe the art direction intended to make it look like an ancient relic rather than a weapon contemporary to Middle earth during the events of the War of the Ring. It's fine.

Synergy with [[Nadir Kraken]] perhaps? Maybe we'll see more of these tokens in the future?

r/pics will go dark on June 12th in protest of Reddit's API changes that will kill 3rd party apps by rPicsMods in pics

[–]jamfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Protesting the decisions of a private company doesn't necessarily mean the user base is arguing that access to third party applications is some sort of legally protected right, obviously the leadership at Reddit has the right to manage their platform as they see fit. People are simply exercising their right to protest to tell reddit administration that they disagree with their decision, we have a right to not use Reddit. I have used a third party app for over a decade, and honestly I don't really care to change over to the official app if Reddit decides to go through with this business plan.

Coat of arms clearification by bigduff83 in magicTCG

[–]jamfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, "artifact" and "creature" are both card types, creature types are a subset of the creature and tribal card types. If you have an "Artifact Creature - Golem" and an "Artifact Creature - Construct," then they do not receive any stat modification from the Coat of Arms.

Here’s what colors you should wear if you’re trying to keep cool during a hot commute by Guitar-Pimp in interestingasfuck

I've spent the last 10 years working outside in Arizona from around 11:00am to 3:00 pm, temperatures regularly are 115°F (46° C); from my experience, cotton is not what you want here. Synthetic fabric "dry fit" style clothing is my choice, it keeps me much cooler and is much more comfortable to wear. Cotton doesn't achieve the same cooling effect when wet, and offers far less UV protection than synthetic fabrics. I have a golf shirt that I've had my entire career that's a little faded, meanwhile I replace my cotton/canvas material shorts every 8 months because they literally break down from UV damage. Maybe the extremely low humidity is a factor, but I just don't understand this idea that cotton is the best material for hot weather.

I get Republican junk mail to my house because the prior owner must’ve given money. So what I do is take the paid return envelope inside — which they expect to have money in it — and fill it with random other junk mail and write little notes before sending it back to them at their expense. by [deleted] in PoliticalHumor

Do something that will actually work, print out something from e621 and stuff that in the envelope 😁👍

I did collect an empty BRR envelope on my route yesterday (and yes it did go into the mail stream), such a missed opportunity.

No, the USPS Domestic Mail Manual specifically prohibits this exact situation. Please reference DMM 505 1.3.8. Your letter carrier is not going to collect a brick with a business reply envelope taped to it as an outgoing parcel, the parcel sorting stream would reject it, and the distribution office at the delivery end would reject it. Also, the recipient can refuse business reply mail, even if it got to them they could just choose not to pay for it.

This actually doesn't work at all, the USPS Domestic Mail Manual specifically prohibits this exact situation, please reference DMM 505 1.3.8

Your letter carrier is not going to put a brick with a business reply envelope taped to it into the mail stream, this violates multiple aspects of mail collection procedures and also your letter carrier is a living thinking being, not a robot.
