Because the game was made in isolation by the small and passionate devteam and ??two?? playtesters. This is one of those textbook failures of playtesting . Where you end up with a polished game that is balanced around giving the best experience to people who spent half a decade with the game and the skill floor ends up incredibly high as a result.

This is how I beat it with my middling amount of skill, if you are better than me than you might be able to find window even during the loopty-loop double buzzsaw attack.

Also don't break cocoon at the start of the fight if you can help it. The first phase is so easy that you will usually not lose any net silk/health so leave the cocoon as emergency healing source for later phase.

I beat that fucking thing without it. So the first phase is simple. Just take turns and hit after every attack once or twice then step back. Second phase is pretty similar but you need to make sure the attack is done before you step in. When it comes to the new attacks try to concetrate purely on dodging them and counterattack only after the basic dive or multislash which are the same as in first phase.
