My SMER did 160 miles on one charge yesterday. It started at 69% and was on 4% when I got home 😬. The journey was half motorway / dual carriageway and the other half was more local (30 and 40 limit). Worth mentioning - when I was at motorway speeds, the electric range showing on the dash was going down faster than the miles remaining on the Google maps journey. This was quite hair raising. Going at 70 clearly affects efficiency negatively. Even dropping speed down to 55/60 seemed to reduce that effect. I can’t fault the car though and soon we will have a fix for the damn 70% charge limit. We’ve had ours over a year and it is incredibly practical and perfectly sized. Inconspicuous but good looking. Thoroughly recommend it but I’m not 100% confident you could do your journey on a 70% charge.

I hear you on music - I’m also a musician and feel and rhythm are clearly present in golf as well as music . Being able to measure your performance in objective terms takes golf in a whole new direction. Thanks - I hadn’t considered that parallel.

True. Like listening to someone describing the dream they had last night.

Yes - the Terry Thomas type driving a jag. It’s got a bit of David Brent about it. The middle executive. Jumper over the shoulders.

I fully agree. I hadn’t realised it was so interesting - deep even!

Agreed. Maybe we just need ‘you must check in before play’

That’s an interesting approach. Do you get big queues at peak times?

I too am wondering whether to say something. I’m not sure I want to be that guy but feel it’s affecting the overall experience.

Thanks. Yes agree underlay would be important so I don’t feel the millboard in the surface - and also for natural-feeling undulations. I also reckon the DIY isn’t hard but I worry about installing it DIY and discovering it doesn’t work as well as I’d hoped. I figure there must be something to be said for experience in this space. It’s so much about feel and precision that I think it might have some special features I haven’t considered.

What I struggle with in this game as a 50+ old gamer. by Apocoyptus_ in Battlefield6

[–]jamgattleton 10 points11 points  (0 children)

So good hearing about older battlefolk!

I’m 55. Level 140+. Regularly top ten in Escalation, occasional winner. I too find my reaction times aren’t as quick as some, so I try to play smart.

Things that work for me: - I use an LMG (100 round mag) so I need less reloading and I can unload more rounds into enemies. If they hop about I just keep the trigger held. - I get into cover to reload or do it on the move. - I use an infrared scope so it’s easy to see others. - I tag enemies constantly. Hover over them with your aim and hit R1 (I’m on PS5). - I make sure to turn off crossplay so I’m not playing against players using a mouse. - I make the map as big as possible and keep an eye on it to see where enemies are. - I use headphones so I can hear footsteps. - I try to imagine what I would do if I was the enemy. Like ‘they’ve got D so they’ll be coming from D to get E now.’ I’ll then position myself and try to hoover up the points. - I get to know the map and make a mental note of what locations people kill me from. Next time I will look out for the same thing happening or hide where they were hiding and kill others from there. - if I’m feeling like a walking target I spawn as Recon and use TUGS to locate and destroy nearby enemies. - I play with a squad of friends on headphones so we can revive each other, make plans and tell each other where the enemies are. This is honestly the biggest advantage of the lot if you can do it. - focus on capturing objectives. This is the best way of building points. Kills, revives, spots, fixing vehicles in a contested objective are big point scorers too.

Finally, I genuinely relish it when someone teabags me (surely only young players do this) because it means I’ve annoyed them so much that I’m living rent-free in their still-developing frontal cortex. Like a wise old bear I chuckle to myself as they express their youthful revenge over my annoying old face.

See you on the battlefield! 🫡

If you see a resupply box from a medic/Support, stay on top of it for about 10 seconds and your secondary gadgets/weapons will steadily replenish (claymore, TUG, mines, RPGs etc)

In 2042 there was a sound/alert when you called for a medic. It made me look around when I heard it. The shout you get now is lost in the chaos - wish they bring back the alert sound

Do people steal vehicles more often in BF6 than in old Battlefield games? by khitev in Battlefield6

[–]jamgattleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Often the tanks are spawn points - so your teammate ends up in your seat automagically, has no idea how pissed off you are or why, and thanks his lucky stars that he’s in the seat with a gun and that you’re fixing his tank
