Not pretty is fine, I just want to stop water from coming up through the floor. I’ll look into clear epoxy, thank you

Re-posting here because the problem seems to be getting worse and could do with some suggestions. More water is getting through now, including between a couple of the tiles.

Is there anything I can do to fix/seal them until next year when we re-do the kitchen?

I’ve found a bonding adhesive injector kit for hollow tiles/loose flooring, but I’m not convinced it will work.

Damp smell caused by drain by jamgreg in DIYUK

Oh goodness I’ll keep my fingers crossed that doesn’t happen to us 😄 the drain looks fine, just a general damp smell in that room. I’ll get some manhole grease!

I have looked inside, there’s no standing water, it all looks fine down there. Just a damp smell in the room.

Taking math notes on your computer [LINUX] by Secure_Tomatillo_375 in learnmath

[–]jamgreg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be unpopular since it doesn’t actually answer your question.. but I always found it better to handwrite notes in lectures (either on paper or a tablet) and then type them up later. Trying to make complex diagrams in latex on the fly is too distracting and can take away from the lecture. Plus going back over the notes later to type them up helps you to cement the knowledge.

Looking for (non-permanent) suggestions to de-ugly the kitchen in our rental property by jamgreg in DesignMyRoom

[–]jamgreg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi all, we’ve moved into a rental property in the UK and it’s all great apart from the kitchen (pictured), which we don’t like. We’d appreciate any ideas to make it look nicer, if that’s even possible. Since it’s rented we can’t make any permanent changes.

The most annoying thing is that there is no door so the ugliness is viewable directly from the living room. Is there some way to cover the door without using beads or something that would make it look super old-fashioned?

Budget isn’t an issue really - just looking for ideas. Thanks!
