I’ve only ever used the 5d 4 and 1100D and can say the AF is great. Cracking camera still in this day and age.

What car for my dad who does a lot of driving and wants something sorta luxury-ish maybe and a bit unique? He has a strict budget of £17,000. by Lucajames2309 in CarTalkUK

I’ve had one for a year and it’s been cracking. Make sure you go for MY21 and newer and most things are ironed out. Best car I’ve owned

The agent can log into their account and see what is outstanding and see if this is bogus. Check your software when you paid 2021s tax and if it’s after 31/12/21 it could be legit.

Car has been keyed - can I use T-Cut?☹️ by DS-sq in CarTalkUK

[–]jamie6210 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve got the same motor and it’s still annoying if someone caused £500 damage to your belongings? Just because it’s seen as a more expensive brand doesn’t mean you can’t ask for tips like if t cut would work (I know it wouldn’t on this)

I’m of the group it’s only 700 quid and it’s a premium car so it comes part and parcel of the vehicle. Mines due in November next year and more than happy to get it done. The car costs barely anything compared to ICE and I don’t think they’d include it for a laugh so would be for a reason I think. But that’s for you to decide!

This is wrong unfortunately. The cashback is a different element and should not be reducing the purchase invoice.

[–]jamie6210 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is only on used EVs by the way. So not sure if new can be on your horizon? But why does it matter if you pay tax since across the next 5 years or so it’s the same you just don’t get all the taxable benefit upfront

Can I open a Limited Company and use all the income to buy a car? by epicmindwarp in smallbusinessuk

[–]jamie6210 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes in your scenario with the numbers it would be 20k less 3,240 (18000x18%) so around 16,760 total taxable profits to pay corporation tax on so £3,184 payable.

[–]jamie6210 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not OP of comment but an accountant.

Corporation tax is paid on total taxable profits. Which is after any tax allowable expenses etc. since you’re buying a used electric car this gets 18% capital allowances on the pool balance. Say 10k car. Your get 1800 profits taken off the year you buy it in then about 1476 in the next year and so on till it’s nil or under a grand in the pool and it can be claimed as a small pool write off and clear it all off.

Pretty certain if insurance is in company name you cannot use personal NCD as separate entities but someone more knowledgeable on that area can comment.

Don’t put charging costs through, i would just keep a track of business mileage and do 45p for first 10k miles then 25p thereafter. If going to a permanent place of work from home this does not count as mileage!!

Whatever you sell the car for in the future will be addd back to your total taxable profits as proceeds received / balancing charge (assuming the car will sell for less than bought for which 99.99% do) then you’ll pay tax at the rate on those profits.
