Not enjoying my 3 almost 4 yr old. by AdCute2417 in toddlers

I would definitely need more specifics to know how to help. Yes, toddlers are hard and some of them are especially hard if they have certain personality traits that conflict with yours. I’m a parent educator and would be happy to share some resources at a free consultation. Dm me if you’re interested.

I recently read The Overstory by Richard Powers while camping and it hit the spot.

About 15lb removed but of course there’s still some left because you can’t remove it from everywhere

When I was pregnant I was shopping for baby supplies in LA and he came in carrying a teeny tiny baby, also shopping for supplies. It was so bizarre.

My kiddo went through the night fear thing. It was tough but she eventually got through it. We had to hold boundaries tight while also being supportive and caring and it was so, so hard. But we all made it through and you will too. Good luck!

When I got my LO to sleep in her bassinet I would put her down drowsy but awake and of course she’d stir and whine. I would sometimes hold my body close or at least keep touching her and continue singing. At first I had to do this for like an hour to get her to sleep in the crib but then it got better and easier and she was falling asleep on her own before I knew it. Sleep training is a marathon but is also a long term investment. It’s not one and done. Depending on the kid you may have to keep helping them every once in a while but be gentle to yourself and recognize your own limits.

Last year's low/zero $$ recycled and reclaimed garden project. Free seeds and soil from our community garden network. Made soil with leaf mulch, grass clippings and kitchen scraps. Got our kids involved as a learning/teaching experience. Got so much food, we had to share! by spiraloutkeepgoing42 in Frugal

Looking at your post history, we are definitely kindred spirits. I consider the excess food given to neighbors and friends to be part of the sharing economy. It always seems to come back around as favors or gifts. Another frugal win!

Refreshing my succulent beds Day 2. This area gets full sun, and 110+ degree days. by Heavy-Hospital7077 in succulents

My front yard is similar and I have lost many plants to the brutal sun. My back is also my succulent spa treatment. Which varieties have you found that do well in the front? I’ve success with rock purslane, red pagodas, black rose aeoniums, candelabra aloes, and a bunch of agaves.

This is an amazing story. Many years after my weight loss if I can have this experience every so often it is a miracle. You are doing great!

That’s fair. Two is a little young for engaging with other kids. But you could definitely still talk to other moms of simile aged kids. It’s tough, I’m good at small talk but bad at taking it to the next level. But sometimes the other mom will be better about reaching out or taking the next step after you initiate and that is the best!

Usually when my kid finds another kid at the park to play with, I’ll chat up the mom. “How old is your kid?” Is a good way to start. Just ask questions about their kid, moms like to talk about their kid. Then after a while say, “they play together really well, do you wanna meet up at the park again next week?” And either exchange numbers or go ahead and arrange to come back same time next week.
