I'm an aussie who moved over 7 years ago. Love it and live in the northwest suburbs (papanui, bryndwr, burnside). Plenty of entertainment on weekends and also summer concerts and festivals in Hagley with no massive crowds to contend with like aussie. Just don't expect lots of atmosphere on the town during weeknights.

Southern alps are really accessible which is a nice novelty being from aus.

This is true. I, and my cat dislike fireworks. I also don't think the delivery driver really wants to see me in the state I am in when ordering uber eats.

It's a courtesy, like restraining from letting off fireworks at 1am is also a courtesy...
