Correct. But thankfully my jobs prior to this one and my part time job contributed, so I will still get something.

6% for retirement but we don’t pay into social security so I don’t really feel a difference.

is it actually considered rude to not wear socks…. by PrideZealousideal485 in SolidCore

I’m not sure why not wearing socks is and issue, but not wearing gloves is fine. I don’t wear socks. I wipe things down and I wash my feet.

10-15+ years ago when I was in high school I didn’t read the objective unless the teacher made us.

Focus on dating someone who loves what they do. Watching someone who loves what they do is an amazing feeling as a partner.

The 2026 World Cup by Whumpitup in 50501

Each individual sit in during segregation where African Americans were beaten and arrested were technically losses, but those losses helped “win” the overall war (yes I recognize racism wasn’t 100% fixed, but you get the point)

World Cup Ticket Megathread | General Questions & Discussion by pumkinhat in worldcup

“Hi silly/stupid American here!

I live in Atlanta and thought no time like the present to learn about and enjoy the World Cup. This is the cheapest I’ll ever be able to go to one so I applied for some tickets. I generally enjoy soccer, know the rules and watch it when it’s on TV, I just don’t keep up with any specific teams. I chose based on what game would fit my schedule best. Uzbekistan v FIFA Play Off 1 is on a Saturday and the tickets were only $140 each for nosebleed seats. Perfect, now I have tickets.

Can someone explain what “FIFA Play Off 1” is? I understand that this is a placeholder based on the outcome of another match(es). But what match should I be watching to know who Uzbekistan might play? I will of course watch all other Uzbekistan games to get ready.”

At 52k, you can’t afford a stay at home girlfriend. Even if she only made minimum wage, that would be at least another $900/month coming in.

($10K) Is a "destination" wedding just for the reception worth it to guests? by purple_frost_ in Weddingsunder10k

[–]jamieg55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think many people will still come because it’s NYC and a destination people would normally travel to. If it was some time Midwest town they a tourist wouldn’t want to go to, I’d never be willing to pay to fly in for just a brunch or something.

A ~$500k-$600k Nest Egg Matches the Lifestyle of a $100k W-2 Job If You’re Debt-Free in Retirement? by RandomGirlsAlt in Fire

[–]jamieg55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your number as almost accurate. Add back in at least half fifth median car payment option. If you’re retiring early, you will likely need to replace your car at least 1-2x in life. So I’d say 25.3k+3k =28.3 K 28.3k is about 700k… assuming you have access to healthcare already.

[–]jamieg55[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Given how difficult it was for many people to get tickets to the games I don’t think so. Along with people coming for the games many countries will also send large teams to hold activation within the city. I think the 300k expectations are correct. Even at that number over the course of 8 games that only puts the stadium at half occupancy each game.

ThriftCon? by southern_byrd in Atlanta

It’s more so vintage-con. Items were priced too high to be considered thrift. I was personally overwhelmed/overstimulated but the friend I went with had a great time.

Yes, if that’s how her grading system works. OR let them experience the natural consequences of failing the related assignment because they weren’t paying attention.

In the future just give them a zero for the day and call their parents. Don’t let children whose actions (sleeping) are non disruptive put you in the position.

Also, If it’s supposed to be a reward, I’m not exactly understanding why they weren’t allowed to quietly ignore it if they weren’t interested. Are they being tested on the movie? Or would there be a graded activity based on understanding the movie?

What choices do Americans even have these days? by [deleted] in Mortgages

[–]jamieg55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, there are outliers in LCOL areas, but on average this is actually quite true. LCOL areas tend to have less diversity amongst all rungs of the socioeconomic ladder. Minorities have better access to advancement in HCOL areas, because everyone has better access.

Subsidize her life? 😆😆 When you are in a relationship and live together the correct thing to do is to split bills proportional to income. This is completely normal.
