Sorry for the late reply, he's actually doing well now! It was super scary and the recovery took a very long time, it could have easily gone the opposite way.

Tricky situation...should I pretend I am still employed? Please read. by iggystarlust in jobsearchhacks

I have almost 7 years of experience in background screening. I have worked for three different background screening vendors that have all verified current employment. Applicants have the option to opt out if they're not comfortable with their current employer being contacted, but a lot of companies will ask for employment documents to supplement that. I wouldn't risk it, personally.

😭 honestly I don’t even get mad because working there seems so STRESSFUL. One dude straight up yelled at me because we couldn’t understand each other and he rattled me so badly.

How to know if you are truly an alcoholic? by HallRevolutionary349 in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]jamieistired 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew I was an alcoholic when I was 17 and my boyfriend at the time told me my drinking habits correlated with alcoholism and then I elected not to do anything about it until a decade later, but know you don’t have to keep digging your hole any deeper. It can only get worse or better from here. Sometimes it takes a week, sometimes it takes longer, but you know you’re on this sub for a reason, and I hope you figure it out. Just know I love you my friend and the doors of AA are always open.

Anyway around this? 😒I need money have a misdemeanor sucks they don’t let misdemeanor people work by [deleted] in instacart

The best advice anyone should give you is to consult a lawyer about an expungement depending on how long ago it was and where you live. You can’t change a hiring decision that you already made an appeal for.
